Wyze Headphones cutting out

I too am experiencing issues with using my Wyze Buds Pro for extended periods of time. They initially work fine, but as time goes on they will either drop to an unusable volume level (quiet), emit a buzz, or cut out altogether. Generally stopping the Bluetooth and forcing a BT reconnect fixes the problem, but this gets annoying when trying to use the buds to watch a movie or carry on a long conference call.

From this thread, it appears that this is a known issue for which there is no identified fix, but I wanted to confirm that I am not missing anything in this lengthy thread before unfairly posting my negative experiences on Amazon.com from where I purchased these buds.

Thanks

Do not post a Negative review on YouTube Wyze Buds Pro review. The Admin with Delete the Post. I had a break down of Good/Bad for YouTube Cordless Vacuum and my post(s) had been deleted. Then I was BLOCK on the Cordless Vacuum thread. I summited a Complaint too YouTube and in week I was able to post.

Yup - that’s the story. Several of us have even gotten replacement headphones from Wyze, but they have the same problem. Typically, they work for around 20 minutes and then there is a loud buzzing and they reboot. It’s very annoying, and Wyze has ignored the problem despite lots of complaints.

I hadn’t heard about any issues with the Wyze Buds Pro’s, just the normal Wyze Headphones which crash around the 20-minute mark. It’s been over a year and they still haven’t fixed the issue!!!

That’s too bad you are having issues with the Buds Pro also. Well, I doubt those will get fixed!!! It’s been over a year and there hasn’t been a fix for these Wyze Headphones. So I don’t expect any fixes coming your way either. If you can, return the junk.

I’ve used cheapo headphones in the past and even those things were trouble-free. Why WYZE can make their headphones work without crashing like everyone else??? They’ve moved on to some other junk product. I guess they have that new gun-safe thing. Really???

WYZE has lost its focus!!! There are new Wyze products I would have Ordered, but I just refuse to do it. Wyze just doesn’t seem to care about its customers.

I have been talking about this for 2yrs that Wyze should focus on 1 Product line that works. It’s just Cheap junk and the fools that pay the $$'s.

I too have experienced issues with these headphones constantly rebooting, but only with my Windows 10 PC. I have two sets (just purchased the 2nd this month). Both act exactly the same. What I have found is this an issue specific to hardware. Both sets work fine with my Samsung S10 and S22 phones. Connect them to my PC, and immediately starts rebooting every few mins. I tried them another on another W10 PC, but this one with an external BT dongle. No issues there, which proves hardware compatibility is the problem.

Wyze needs to actually buy some of the BT devices listed in this thread and confirm the issue. I’m sure it is a simple firmware issue, but they need acknowledge it first.

I also have two pairs - one received as a warranty. Both units reboot and are so annoying that I stopped using them. I switched to AirPods Pro, which work perfectly……every time. I haven’t purchased another Wyze product because they demonstrated that they don’t care about customer service by never fixing this problem.

Well, I have the same exact problem and I read most of the comments and say the same.

So I went to Wyze’s app and opened the configuration menu of my headphones in the upper right corner. The Auto Power Off was on.
I think maybe this is the problem, maybe it’s not well-functioning.

I’ll try this and in a couple of days I’ll update what happened.

This whole thread is troubling to read and somewhat surreal at the same time.

While writing this reply, I have my Wyze headphones perfectly functioning on head - as they have been for the last several months. They are Bluetooth-connected to a Windows 11 PC.
They do shutdown themselves after 15 minutes if no music is playing (just the ANC functioning) but, this is expected as I configured them to do so. My coworker has the same ones (black version) and he never complained either.

Are there really that many defective units in the field? Pretty strange.

I have had my headphones for about 3 months now and they have worked great until today. This morning they have been reconnecting every minute or so and now it’s stopped do this but instead of working, they seem to be locked up. The blue power light is on but there is nothing playing. The other thing is that I can’t power them down by pressing the power light. I am going to have to run to the store and buy some other headphones for my work meetings. I don’t know if maybe an update killed them last night, but I need another pair that will work. If anyone has an answer to how to fix these please let me know.

I’ve had this issue for a long time. I just dealt with it but man is it really annoying when you’re in a meeting and have to tell the other party “hold on, my headset is resetting itself. I can’t hear you for the next 20 seconds…” Super unprofessional and now I’m on the lookout for a different brand to wear and am no longer referring people to these headphones for this reason. How have we not had any software update to fix this?

Support just told me it’s a hardware issue and no fix for it.

Hi guys,

My Wyze headphones was doing something similar to what others experienced on this thread. After turning on, about 10 to 20 minutes later (I didn’t time it), I would hear a buzzing sound followed by “powering off”, pause, “powering on”, pause, “Connected”, pause “Connected”.

(Knock on wood) This went away after I changed the autoshutoff (?) setting from 15 minutes to “never”. After this setting change, I was able to listen to about 3 hours of uninterrupted music so far!!
