I was one of the first posters back in January. Mine started magically working shortly after the last firmware update. Not instantly after, shortly after. They have been great since, not one issue.
Well after 10 months, or crashing. Since day 1 of release, it looks like WYZE has finally fixed the bug!!! I’ve gone 3+ hours now without a single crash using only iOS devices and currently Windows 10 Desktop. The new Firmware version 2.1.143. I’m using Wyze Beta software, so I don’t know if that is a Beta Firmware or a Public Release!!! The firmware Notes haven’t been updated and so it doesn’t yet show what was fixed in this version yet? So far, for me, no crashing so far!!! Why it has taken 10 months to fix??? So much better when it’s not crashing around the 20-minute mark over and over again. Those that have had this bug, let everyone know if it has fixed the issue for you.
Wyze could be like Cisco…Upgrade the Firmware and next release will break what had been fix. As a few other’s had said…Stay at your working Firmware and consider yourself lucky.
Well, I thought it was fixed, it’s NOT!!! I started watching on my iPad and then the crashing came back once again. Started on my iPad and then moved onto the Windows 10 PC and crash, crash , crash.
Crash times:
7:09p
7:44p
8:04p
8:22p
8:41p
9:00p
9:18p
I’m still using them currently, so I’m sure there will many many more crashes to come. So whatever Wyze fixed with the firmware update, hasn’t fixed the crashing. This really sucks!!!
I’ve had the phones for almost a year, and experienced the periodic crashes discussed in this thread. After one of the early updates, I stopped trying to use them on both my iPad and Windoze and just stayed with the iPad only. Since that time, I’ve not experienced the crashes, and I don’t especially need the phones on the PC, so I haven’t tried it again.
JBDragon’s recent experience makes me wonder if there’s a clue to the problem. He wasn’t seeing the problem until he tried to also use the phones on Windows. Is there a clue here to what’s going wrong?

Why are these things even crashing in the first place? It’s now been almost a year since I have gotten these things and yet they still haven’t fixed this major issue. I’ve never had Bluetooth headphones just crash like this, EVER. Even the really Cheapo’s would work just fine.
I don’t understand why they do nothing to fix this issue??? They should never, ever just crash. Talking about a bad user experience. It’s also why I just stopped buying Wyze products, as they just don’t seem to care. They keep throwing out new stuff and refuse to fix the issues with their older products. It’s not even that old. It’s been 11 months since they were released and I got a pair. This entire 11 months, since day 1 they have been crashing. Really, they just don’t seem to care.
Just bought these headphones Nov 2nd, had them arrive Nov 5th. They were working great (although for whatever reason, if I was listening to music and got a zoom video call it wouldn’t drop back to headphones mode from headset mode). Today I charged them up to 100% and ever since then they are in a constant boot cycle. I contacted Wyze support via chat and they asked a couple of questions then escalated it to Warranty replacement so we shall see if they get replaced and if they stay working this time.

New replacement set arrived Tuesday. Worked great all day Wednesday at work. Came in this morning, used them for 10 minutes then the loud buzz and headphones are frozen up again. Can’t even turn them off with the power button anymore.
The latest firmware update finally fixed this issue for me. I have been using them for the past 2 weeks with good success. The one thing that is strange that still happens is that the mode will switch sometimes on me from noise cancellation on to off. I don’t know what it does it. Fortunately, I have not had any shorting out issues while on the calls though and no one has complained about low microphone volume from me either. I still can’t believe it took this long to fix the issue. I completely wrote off the Wyze headphones until I saw the firmware update notification and the note about fixing the issue in there.
Just recently I’ve been having issues with my headphones crashing. I’m running the latest firmware (2.1.143) Often while I’m on a team meeting on my windows 10 computer my headphones will do a reboot right in the middle of my phone call. The headphones will create a buzzing noise for a few seconds, and then say “power on, connected, connected”
I always have my headphones connected to my windows 10 computer and android phone. I’ll listen to music with my phone and use my computer when I’m in a meeting or on a teams call.
The reboot sequence used to happen a few times a day. Now I can’t get through a 1-hour phone call without my headphones rebooting 2-3 times. Even if I have my headphones on, connected to the phone and computer without playing anything they will do a reboot.
So you are having the same problem I’ve had for the last 12 months. Wyze is still in no hurry to fix this issue. I mean come on, headphones shouldn’t be crashing, let alone like this.
Ya, it doesn’t matter if you are playing anything on them or not, they just crash around the 20-minute mark. That works out to 3 times an hour.
Yeah - welcome to the Club. Because Wyze refuses to fix the problem or even acknowledge it exists, your choices are to either put up with the 20 minute buzz/crashes/reboots or stop using them and buy something that actually works.
It’s Wyze…Problems with every product…I use the Headphones when I travel…If I leave them or if they break it’s 1 less headache.
How’s your replacement working so far?
Mine are still crashing to this day. WYZE refuses to fix this major bug. I haven’t recommended them in a year because of this. In fact, I tell people to NOT buy them. As far as I’m concerned they are almost worthless. I still only use them to mow my lawns. They cut down on the noise mowing as they are working, but then crash at about 20 minutes point. They start booting up again and they cut down on the mowing noise once again, though I have to manually start up was I was tuned into. That is all I have used them for this entire time. I have other Noise-canceling headphones I use, they’re small, but work great and never crash.
These were my replacement, second pair also. Didn’t fix the problem at all. The same exact crashing issue. WYZE puts out all these products and then basically moves onto something else. It’s been over a year. I’ve sent them a crash report and even a sound recording of it crashing on me, and after a year, NO FIX. That’s just ridiculous.
This is definitely a red flag not to buy. Thanks a lot. I was like 99% convinced already but damn…
Yup - same with me. I stopped using them and switched to a Monoprice set that works perfectly.
How are the Monoprice in comparison, other than the not crashing part? The sound and ANC? I was looking at those also. Don’t they have a few different versions?
I have an older set of their ANC headphones that I purchased in May 2013, which is when I think they started making ANC headphones. They have been comfortable and performed flawlessly - never crashed. I wear them when I work outside with power equipment as well as on airplanes for noise cancellation. Now that they are over 8 years old, the material is starting to look a little frayed, so I decided to purchase a new one - their Model BT-600ANC, which was on sale for $79.99 compared with the $112.59 I paid back in 2013. I just checked, and they are currently on sale for $79.99 ($20 off). They are simply amazing!!! This will be hard to imagine, but they are more comfortable than the Wyze headphones, which I think are pretty comfortable. They perform flawlessly and I like the way the controls work, which are described at https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=41232. They work the way you would have expected the Wyze headphones to work - THEY NEVER CRASH!!! I normally just listen to spoken word (podcasts, audiobooks, YouTube interviews, etc.), and, although I think the sound quality for music is good, I’ll leave that judgement to people who are better critics than me. Also, the battery life is amazing - 40 hours of playback. I wore them on a flight that lasted four hours, and at the end they were still at 100% capacity. I have used them while chainsawing or leaf blowing, and they always indicate 100% capacity remaining when I push the little button at the end of the day.
Interesting. I’ve been using Bluetooth headphones for years. Since my iPhone 4. I’ve used some really cheapo once in the past. Even those NEVER crashed!!!
My current AirPod Pro’s never crash. My Airpods before them never crashed. Who oh why does the Wyze crash. It’s been over a year and they still haven’t been fixed. Because Wyze doesn’t care!!!
I took a look at the Monoprice ones you posted and it looks good. I’ll have to think about forking out another $80 at this time.
