I have purchased 2 Wyze cam v4 in November 2025 and one of them went bad. I called and spoke to someone at Wyze and they denied my warranty claim since the camera was not activated right away when purchased. It has only been 9 to 10 months since I purchased it. I reviewed the warranty policy and it does not state that the camera has to be activated right away. I am very disappointed since I used Wyze since 2018. Claim number 5217654.
As long as you have a receipt and it was an authorized retailer, the warranty is 1 year from purchase as far as I know. Heck sometimes they’ll even allow 1 year from activation. So I think the rep you spoke with was confused.
Maybe @WyzeJasonJ can help, but you may just want to try calling and get a different rep too.
I had spoke to a person for the initial claim and she coordinated the claim with the processing team and they denied it. I had provided my home depot online receipt showing my purchase date November 28 2025. It didn’t make any sense.
By “went bad” have you tried a different power brick and power cord? If the power brick is bad, you may have an extra one laying around.
I always test out every cam I purchase as soon as it is received. Set it up, update the firmware, test it out to see if it records. If all is well and I don’t need the cam I put it back in the box and only take it out to update the firmware or use it as a replacement.
Sorry, I didn’t see this sooner. I reviewed the support ticket, and it looks like there was an issue regarding the activation date versus the purchase date.
I’m unable to see the activation date on my end, but if the camera is still in your Wyze app, you should be able to find it under Settings > Device Info.
If you could send me a screenshot of that page via DM, I’ll take a look and see what I can do to help.
