I ordered two Wyze v4 Grey cameras from Wyze Canada on August 4, 2024. The order was fulfilled on August 6, 2024. I installed & updated the first camera on August 14, 2024. The camera activation date shows 08/14/2024. I installed the second camera on August 17, 2024. The camera activation date shows 05/15/2024.
Did Wyze Canada sell me a used camera?
Both cameras were updated to version 4.52.7.0367 and the app is v3.0.0
It would appear that way. All of mine were dated as I connected them.
I believe your warranty starts on that date. Or could it be purchase date according to receipt.

I would seek a refund from where you bought the pre-dated cam. Contact support directly. Support doesn’t monitor this volunteer forum.
I think this is a good idea even if there are no problems with the camera and no refund or replacement is being sought, because I’m still not sure what “Activation Date” means in some cases:
We’ve seen incorrect Activation Date issues before. I’ve encountered the issue for at least 3 Wyze device types and one is still outstanding. They were ordered and received directly from Wyze and they were definitely not used, returned and resold. Unless exterior/interior packaging shows signs of prior handling by previous owner, this is most likely a bug.
Yeah, I wasn’t concerned about it myself so much as I was puzzled, especially since that one device’s “Activation Date” precedes its public availability. All my other camera Activation Dates display as expected.
Yeah. Neither was my friend and the cam worked fine.
I probably would have returned it to Amazon with their no questions asked return policy, since I haven’t seen this before with my small purchases.
Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions. Support only wanted me to do a factory reset which did not change the activation date. They spent the rest of the time telling me that it was not a problem & that it didn’ t affect the warranty.
I have returned the cameras to Wyze Canada.
