Encountered this: If you purchase a new camera from Wyze site and checked the 30 day free trial before checkout… apparantly Wyze makes the date of the purchase the default start date of that 30 day trial activation/start.
This business logic only makes sense if Wzye same day ships and the camera arrives same day AND you unpack/activate the camera by midnight of that day.
For me, Wyze shipped the order 3 days later (12/5th). Here’s the kicker, the camera was a gift and they haven’t even gotten around to opening it and setting it up. Today (1/2nd )got credit card notification about the charge and had to spend time on support chat to get that refunded (and cancel the auto-activated Cam Plus service).
Note: while didn’t enjoy the 20-30 minutes needed on chat… at least the agent didn’t make a fuss about processing the refund. Kudo’s for that side of the company.
