Hi Folks, hope all are well. This question was posted years ago but I’m struggling to find the answer
Could someone pls answer the following question for me in simply terms pls.
Q: can I use a iPhone usb charger cable for my Wyze cam v4 in UK and is it safe?
If not what do I need to buy to plug in my wyze cam
Many thanks
The main problem here is that the V4 uses a MicroUSB cord end, and iPhones all use either lightning or USB-C, so the iPhone CABLE won’t fit in the V4’s power slot at all because they use different ends. You need to find a cable that has one end with a MicroUSB connection. Or you could buy an adapter for your iPhone cord that changes the end to microUSB.
As for the charger itself, yes you could use an iPhone charger to connect a USB cord with a MicroUSB connection to a Wyze cam V4. Chargers are fairly “smart” and regulate how much power goes to the device based on its requirements.

Not only that, the cable casing width is also important. Most commercial micro USB cables are too thick to plug into the V4’s USB port.
I don’t have a V4, but is the charging cable similar to those for other cameras…usb A on one end, camera specific connector on the other? I plug my camera cables into all sorts of power supplies.
