I’ve been having similar issues and found that if I turn off Record to MicroSD that it mostly fixes the problem. It might be that the camera is delayed because it’s accessing a slow MicroSD? This removes a valuable feature though.
Thanks for your input on this.
If you turn off micro SD, then you have no recording and would force you into a paid subscription. Something I’m not interested in.
Yep!!
Its very simple Wyze cameras are now complete and total garbage.
When the version 1 came out I was so stoked about them, I praised them to the heavens and told everyone about them, that much quality and ease of use for $20 bucks ?!
Well the honey moon is over kids, I still have 12 of them running not counting the other that died or got smashed with a hammer and I wouldn’t recommend them to a dog now.
I have still have twelve of them from version 1’s and a few 2’s with single mounts and pan cams and even a wack of leaky crappy version 3’s that Wyze refuses to exchange or even acknowledge became of that leaky lens issue that was a manufacturing problem.
I think little billy better get his butt off of YouTube and Facebook and stop playing wanna be family man influencer but you all know he could gave a crap about us the customers now.
I have 3 Ubiquiti access points in my house and no camera is more than 20 feet away from one now and they still don’t connect worth a damm …
Yes, of courses we’re gonna get the fan-boy’s here who will still say: “oh no, (gush and swoon) they’re so great!” Well maybe for you lucky sods but for the rest of us they suck completely. However work on that denial thing and continue to ignore what we’re saying because you can’t accept it - kinda like Wyze management and owners do. They’re just as happy counting our money as yours.
I won’t even get started with their BS marketing razor/razorblade crap they stuff down our throat’s now with that stupid Cam PLUS subscription garbage. You’ve been listening to those moron MBA’s you hired and the marketing fools who’ve been telling you that subscriptions are the wave of the future … ya it’s not! People who buy cameras for $20 bucks have NO interest now or ever in paying for that kind of garbage , and what the hell are you thinking !!!
But keep chasing the money and work on that greed tho - keep it up ladies’ and see where you customer base goes …
The reality is the vast majority of people don’t have issues, it isn’t fan boys or defending it’s just that this is a place for people to come get help, and since things typically work for most people, the suggestions are based on troubleshooting your setup as it likely isn’t something major or central, it is a camera specific or network specific thing.
When people come here to just complain and vent then the quality of the answers will also typically match that.
Well … the facts here speak for themselves – Wyze used to be good and now they’re not, they’re more of a joke:
- The cameras used to support RTSP directly – now they don’t
- They used to record non stop or longer and 2 mins – now they don’t
- They used to offer customer support and now they make excuses and ignore
you and your concerns. - They knew for a fact that the serves of V3 cameras HAVE (not had) an
manufacturing defect and ALL the lens fog up and the cameras are useless. -
All they give a crap about now is selling subscriptions - that's it !!
Again, you can say and think and feel what you want, but you can’t belittle, or dismiss, or ignore our thoughts and options. You go ahead and do you and we’ll form our own thoughts and options. Thankyouverymuch.
Cheers’
Dave
You can also think what you want. And since I’m not affiliated in any way with Wyze, I’m also welcome to do the things you mention above (though I don’t believe I have).
This is a forum to share information, your experiences
rather good or bad or other. This is not a join the club and say what others want you to say. It is to help community awareness, share your frustrations and your thoughts about the direction of the Wyze products. Wyze I would hope would read their users comments, and frustrations and try to figure where they can improve. This is a win, win for Wyze and their users. Any company only exists because of their customers. This helps the customer share and Wyze learn what’s working and what’s not for their customers.
I totally agree Wyze has changed a lot and wants to sell subscriptions. Being along time user I’m saddened by the direction Wyze has chosen to go.
Don’t disagree, but venting and angry rants is fairly pointless, especially when people don’t want any input or assistance, or attack the fellow users trying to assist them.
Supposedly Wyze does monitor these forums, though actions resulting from them seem to be pretty rare.
Wow. I have never seen that.
I may disagree with my friends but I expect them to stand their ground. I don’t expect them to be in lock step with my logic and vice-versa.
I enjoy tthe feedback and an occasional rant.
Just be kind.
I agree with what your saying.
I’m not understanding what you are meaning here. I’m just saying forums aren’t to only tell people what they want to hear, nothing wrong with being honest and say what you really want to say.
Think we’re all on the same page here. Some people just need to realize there’s
- Constructive criticism, warning others about a limitation, or even just telling a story about why you don’t like Wyze and went elsewhere, which might help others make a educated decision.
- Throwing a tantrum
I guess the way I see it, if someone is here, it is because they own a Wyze device, and in most cases something isn’t working right or they can’t figure something out, the goal is to try to assist with that.
You are contradicting yourself with the above statement, Wyze is out to make money just like any other company out there. Giving away things that costs them money is not a wise move for any business. It costs money for Wyze to run all our cameras in the cloud and sell us cameras with low profit margins, so they have to offset their costs by charging us subscription fee. Feeling happy or sad has no baring on running a business.
