I just realized all my Cam V3 are back on FW 4.36.13.0416. I remember updating them to FW beta 4.36.14.2506 three weeks ago. I turned off automatic firmware update.

Did Wyze force push the firmware back? This is the first time I seen it happened. Based on the changelog, I’m guessing the FW beta 14.2506 was causing a lot of issues.

Is this firmware being pushed out slowly? I don’t see it for my old v3 cams. I only have 3 and I’ve upgraded the rest to V4s.

Seems slow for me too.
Not available yet.
Also, seems to be a pretty big jump in version number…
I am at:
4.36.13.0416
Upcoming:
4.58.14.2589

Are we sure that number is quoted correctly?

With this latest FW beta 4.36.14.2589, they changed back the Cam V3 behaviour to automatically restart again when the internet is out more than 30 minutes. They reverted back to same behaviour as FW 4.36.13.0416 as described here along with its potential issues. Once the camera is restarted then it will start recording in 20250210 folder with the timestamp of 2025-02-10 14:50:08 in the microSD card. It will overwrite the old footage. Alternatively, you can access the footage on the Wyze app as well on February 10th 2025 starting at 2:50pm. This date and time is only unique with this particular beta firmware as that should be the firmware build date.

FYI, previous FW beta 4.36.14.2506 and 4.36.14.2259 didn’t automatically restart Cam V3…

I just received my update for 4.36.14.2589 this morning. Let’s see what fix messes other things! I’m kidding, I am sure fixes will take care of all concerns.

Is it me or what is included in firmware updates is easier to find by using Google search than going through our portal? It’s pretty fast for normal FW updates but takes longer to get to for beta users. If there is a quick link versus searching through portal, I may have missed.

Typo on Jason’s part. 4.36.14.2589. Version 4.58.x y is V3 Pro cameras firmware.

Let me get the correct number, I just copied and pasted what I was given lol.

Edit: Fixed version number

That’s not good, I guess I’ll hold on updating my cams for now. Thanks for reporting this.

Not sure if anything with person detection changed. After 4.36.14.2589, I have a v3 that randomly false Person Detection. I have a video doorbell pro, and Duo Cam Doorbell pointed at the same area and they don’t have the same false detection.

Awesome Fix !!! camera’s up and running SD card super fast reading no lagging with three jumping dots Thanks Wyze Team !!!

Whens the update happening? Im in canada and all my cams say up to date on my v3s yetthis is what the firm ware says:
Latest version: 4.36.13.0416
Current version: 4.36.13.0416

This is the Beta Release Firmware. Have you registered to be a Beta Tester and then selected the V3 Cameras as well?

Now it says beta. How do i install the firmare

Go to the beta app, select the account menu followed by about.

In about, select beta program and then select the beta firmware you would like to get per device type. Once you select the device type, you will be notified of the beta firmware when available. You will see it in the firmware update page and on the device itself

Thanks. Just did all that. Nothing for me on v3 cams

Well, just tried 4.36.14.2953 update. Camera recorded for 30 mins after no wifi then stopped recording right after until wifi was back on. So it does not work.

Thanks for the update. Looks like only previous FW beta update 4.36.14.2259 and 4.36.14.2506 fixed the issue of no auto restart after 30min of no internet. Too bad they don’t offer those firmware anymore.

Your only choice is to manually flash back to and stay on stable FW 4.36.11.8391 and remember to disable auto firmware update. Hopefully they will eventually fix this.
