Wyze Cam v3:
Version: 4.36.14.2842
What’s New:
This latest beta Cam V3 FW 4.36.14.2842 update will still cause the camera to restart itself automatically when the internet is out for more than 30 minutes. Once the camera is restarted then it will start recording in 20250306 folder with the timestamp of 2025-03-06 00:38:06 in the microSD card. It will overwrite the old footage. Alternatively, you can access the footage on the Wyze app as well on March 6th 2025 starting at 12:38am. Due to DST in my Eastern Time Zone, the Wyze app thinks there’s recorded footage on 11:38am (green progress line on the timeline), but this is incorrect.
This date and time is only unique with this particular beta firmware as that should be the firmware build date.
FYI, previous FW beta 4.36.14.2506 and 4.36.14.2259 didn’t automatically restart Cam V3
Why does this continue on and on to be a problem?
It get’s fixed with one version of firmware, then breaks again with the same issue with another version?
How many teams are working on firmware and not starting off with a last known good configuration?
Seems like folks are running amok in the labs with all sorts of starting points for the firmware they are working on, not knowing what was done before them.
