I have two v3 cams, one is 2C and the other is 7C. Both have the constant red light issue. The firmware on those in device info is 4.36.10.2163.
V3 MAC address:
2C:AA:8E:xx:xx:xx - I have 3 of these online
7C:78:B2:xx:xx:xx - I have 3 of these online
D0:3F:27:xx:xx:xx - I have 2 of these online
(I have some others not hooked up at the moment)
All 8 of mine had no problems with the firmware including the D0:3F:27 cams.
Still, I love this observation! I may ask people in the future what their MAC address starts with so I can test against the same V3 batch. I appreciate the great idea!
I was also in your situation, solid red light and can’t factory reset the wyze cam.
I’ve contacter the Wyze support online, and they suggest to use another power adapter, and test if you can reset the wyze cam.
It was quite random, but i tried it and it worked.
I also inserted a SD card and then tried to factory reset the wyze cam.
What you should remember is that when you hold the cam, the red light is not always meaning the cam is not working, in my case, when i inserted the SD card and power on the wyze cam, the cam started with the solid red light but it was actually recording on the SD card (I’ve checked the card on my PC after removing it).
Please try all these and hopefully, you can access to the connexion setup, QR scan etc.
Good Luck.
Thanks for these suggestions, but none of them still worked. I tried 8 different power adapters to reset it and also with and without the sd card. There has been no new footage added to the sd card in over a week so no new recordings are happening when I leave the camera powered and check the sdcard on my pc.
Shows firmware version 4.36.9.139
Also, compare the MAC address (sticker under the Cam) of the working Wyze Cams V3 and the not working one.
Perhaps this could show an issue with a specific production lot.
Can I get a link to the firmware to manually flash I have 2 v3’s that wont take the OTA update.
Wyze doesn’t typically release beta firmware for manual downloading/flashing unless the devs need someone to try something out, then they may email it directly to someone.
Try power-cycling your cameras that won’t take it. Did you have other V3’s that DID take the update okay, or none of them did?
Hi
No live sound on V3’s on Ver.36.10.2424.
One can speak through and be heard through every camera, however no sound incoming from any camera, except in recording’s. All my V3 cameras having the same issue, Since last update to 36.10.2424
Thank you
Big thanks
Much appreciated
Kind regards
When will the fixed Firmware be released to Beta testers as i am still on 4.36.10.2424 and have no audio on android for live stream but I do have it on my iPhone when live streaming and on my google Hub.
Software version on android is v2.34.0(73)
That is something I have no way of knowing as I am on the user side just like you. I know that Wyze indicated they were working on an update to the Beta FW, but there was no indication of how close they are. Hopefully it will be soon.
We still have no update that has sorted out the sound to be heard when logging into any camera (V3) live. Play back is fine but no sound on live view
You are running Beta Firmware.
Entering into the Beta Firmware Testing program and downloading Beta Firmware that has not yet been approved for Public Release comes with inherent risks. Bugs are to be expected. It is the purpose of the Beta Firmware Testing Program to identify those bugs and report back in this thread so that bugs can be identified and fixed.
This bug has been identified and Wyze has stated that it will be fixed in the next Beta Firmware build. As of 6 days ago, per the post above, they were still Alpha Testing the next FW Beta build which has a multitude of fixes to be tested. When that build is ready to be Beta Tested, they will push it out.
If you do not want to wait for the next Beta FW Build, you can manually flash your cam back to the most recent Public Release Firmware.
@SlabSlayer is alpha available in-house or selected closed groups only? With all the issues I’ve been having with one of my cameras (even going back to stable), I’d be tempted to test my fate against an alpha haha.
I have no idea. I’m not “in house”. I’m just another user riding the Wyze train.
I just inferred that was the case from Baohua’s last post on the issue:
Since Alpha is before Beta, and Wyze handles that “in house”, I only assumed that is where it was. Perhaps I applied the wrong label and should have said “In House” instead.
I have noticed that one of my cameras records fine and streams like it should, while the other records slower and herky jerky. I think the difference is that I ended up having to hard reset the camera that’s working and am not certain that I did in the one that isn’t. I am talking holding the setup button in until the camera clicks and the light goes solid.
I may have to try and reset the other one when I get home.
Unrelated issues with Wyze home monitoring that caused the alarm to go off after it was disarmed. For another thread.
The last update for V3 cameras, 4.36.10.2526 is greatly received that brings back audio on the live cameras, when just viewing, Thank you
Where can I download the v3 beta firmware?
