Installed this cam and connected it ok to my account around the time they came out. For a long time I didn’t bother with it, changed phones, router and recently bought a v3. I decided to re-downloaded wyze android app, reset cam and now it won’t connect back into my account. I keep getting password error, constantly. It’s the same wifi network, everything else connects just fine, including a v3 but just this cam. Error is → Connection failed, try re-typing your password, if that doesn’t work try rebooting your router and modem. I have done that but no joy. Should I have first deleted the cam from my account before reseting it? How do I fix this?
I don’t have a Wyze Cam V2 (not the Wyze Cam PanV2) but the setup isn’t any different from the V3. Here are some tips that may help:
When you are doing the setup, be sure that your Router is not running IPV6.
Be sure your phone is connecting to the 2.4GHz network during setup. You may need to disable Mobile Data to keep your phone from trying to use that.
Make sure Bluetooth and GPS are enabled as the setup uses these during the Network ID process.
It may help to disable the 5GHz network temporarily within the router to isolate bot the phone and the Cam to the same network.
Other users have mentioned troubles with getting older cams to install on the new App version. It may be necessary to delete the App and install an older version from an APK archive to get it to work and then update back to current thru the play store.
