You’re not the only one!
Everything’s just fine safely back on .1002 firmware while waiting for a resolution, which I agree, they are probably very energetically working on as we speak!

Updated tonight without knowing of these issues. Ugh! I lost 1 of 3 cameras due to this.
I think there may be an issue with non-letters in the password, as well. My WiFi password is complex but not long.
Another issue I had when trying to reconnect it is that the QR code was partially covered in the app on an iPhone 11 Pro.
I’m super disappointed by these rookie mistakes!
I had this problem with my v2 cams. What I noticed is the V2 cameras will come back online if you remove the microsd card.
I upgraded to the current firmware and I was using a microsd card that was over 32GB. After I rebooted, the camera would come on briefly then go offline. But if I reboot without a microsd card, it would work okay. It will also work with a 32GB microsd card.
So is there a weird bug with microsd card with the new firmware? I think I’m going to roll back to the older firmware in the meantime.
Try turning on the v2 cameras without the microsd card and see if they reconnect to the WiFi.
No luck. LED stays yellow/amber, camera clicks rhythmically every 5 seconds or so. SD card or not. Reset/setup button pressed or not.
Went back to 4.9.8.1002 on all my v2 cams. I had to climb ladders and unmount them from enclosures. The latest 2 firmwares have been a dumpster fire. No way I am going to upgrade firmwares again. I cancelled my CamPlus subscription; not going to pay Wyze anymore after this. So many problems over the years with this company. Doubt they understand what is even happening here

I had one camera with that problem. I redid Setup for that v2 camera and the Wyze app was able to connect afterward. I eventually just rolled the firmware back to the previous one and they all work now.
If nothing works, I would just roll back to the previous firmware for the Wyze Cam V2.
Manual Firmware Update
Look under “Flash Firmware for Wyze Cam v2 & Wyze Cam Pan”
Remember to rename the file to demo.bin.
Thank you for the suggestion @JoeWize. I tried that: SD card with older firmware inserted, setup/reset button held while I plug in the power. Still - solid yellow/amber LED, rhythmic clicking roughly every 5 seconds.
i lost 3 v2’s this same way. solid amber, click every 5 seconds or so.
my koi cam that was sealed underwater in my pond since 4/01/20 was killed by a firmware update. I really shouldn’t have updated that one.
Sorry for the trouble. For the three bricked V2s, do you mind PM me the MAC address and the LED status of them? We will check what happened after the firmware update and help you recover them. Thank you very much.
@FrauSchlau @phreebsd Sorry for the trouble. For the three bricked V2s, do you mind PM me the MAC address of them? If the LED light keeps as solid yellow after power on, it’s probably bricked. Manually flashing the firmware and doing a factory reset can bring them back. I can help you recover them. Thank you.
@WyzeBaohua I PM’d you a few days ago, sent photos of the MACs. You asked if the wifi password exceeds 21 characters, I confirmed that it did not, and I have not heard back since.
Here are my 3 V2’s that died from the latest firmware push.

I also tried to flash with sd. no dice.
For those having this issue, I would advise trying a brand new uSD card to see if that helps. Some time ago I had a v2 that would work until I restarted it (via app or via power cycle). Once I removed the uSD card and stuck in a brand new one it was solid as a rock.
I’m not saying this is a sure fire fix for everyone, but it may be worth trying. Best of luck to my fellow WYZE die-hards.
ill give it a try. i used the same SD to try and resuscitate the cams.
Are you able to get the LED on the back to go to the “light blue” solid mode for flashing? I was unable to because my SD was too large. It would just go right to yellow and factory reset because I was holding the button. I had to partition my SD card down below the limit, which I think is 32GB ‘officially’, to 8GB then I was able to boot into the proper mode to flash the firmware.
Nothing is working as of yet. the setup button doesnt seem to do anything anymore on all 3.
I’ll try creating an 8GB volume and test that when I get home today.
The Silent Install
Not sure where exactly the process is failing on your cams, so this may not apply, but just in case - one thing a Wyze tech told me that worked was to be prepared for a mute V2 - ie do NOT listen for “ready to connect”.
So, insert the small partition SD card with the “demo.bin” file on it into the V2, press and hold the reset button while plugging in the power cord and keep it pressed until the light turns purple (yellow+blue), then release the reset button and walk away for awhile. If the light never goes purple, I don’t know what to do except experiment more with the SD cards?
But, if you get past this stage and the light is yellow or blinking yellow and the cam is still silent when you press reset, just go ahead and proceed to add the camera in the app as if the camera was saying things.
The key point will be to keep holding or waving the QR code in front of the camera while watching for the light to change to blinking blue, meaning that it read the QR code and is now trying to connect to your WiFi. Which it will hopefully do.
This silent install was very weird to experience, but that particular cam is back online with .1002 and has been working fine since.
Anyhow, just one more thing to try…
I was able to recover all three with an 8gb fat32 partition using the 4.8.x firmware linked above. I was also able to update all three to the latest 4.9.9.1472. Go figure…
Whatever works!
