I’ve been testing it for almost 24 hours. Thank you. It is now usable. I posted my initial finding in another thread waiting for your official announcement.
I’m currently testing the Smart Tracking. It is working as expected. Maybe a bit rough around the edges but 100% better than it was.
I cannot upload video more than 10 seconds but this is where it stays.
I created a link to a YouTube video, that’s the only way I can get this thing to accept anything larger than 5.83 mag limit.
Pan scan not moving the camera. I reset the way points, restarted the camera tried again. Hammer starts up looking straight up at the ceiling until I tap one of the way points, then it shows cars parked and tagged. And never moves, even with pen and scan on.
nikrib,
Your internal IP address does not need to be hidden, it is a non-routable IP that a gazillion other people also have. You are not going to get hacked because you left the IP visible.
I just updated mine, and it doesn’t have choppy or jumpy video, even when I am panning the cam.
I’m seeing mixed results with jumpy video. The gardner was here today and I watched him for about 15 minutes working in the backyard. The video was stable. Then a while ago I went to the backyard and the video was choppy and jumping around. I suspected that it was connectivity related so I turned the video down to 360p. It smoothed right out. This was on the 2.4 band with 3 bars. Try setting your video down to 360 and see what happens.
I have also been testing to see if it is choppy or jumpy. So far, events are playing fine with no jumping around and the Live feed works as well. I will monitor more to see if I notice anything.
Note: I do have the smart Tracking on, I don’t have it doing any Pan Scan options. I also have the one Home Waypoint position. Not sure if any of this makes a difference.
The first camera I posted about won’t even pan and scan anymore. Second one does pan and scan but still highlights parked vehicles and jumps all over the place when I move the camera. Very strange, cause the picture is awesome, the signal is full strength, I have the Wyse mesh Wi-Fi and it has been working fabulously! I don’t understand why this would not work better.
it is one of the issues that they specified was fixed in this latest update.
It’s been going on quite a bit, tagging parked cars.
Much of my uneven scrolling and the failure to pain and scan suddenly resolved itself but it’s still tagging parked cars.
The video is moving more smoothly now without stalling or jumping around, and my pan scan is working again, but it’s still tagging parked cars.
This is a screenshot with both of my pan cam V4’s running.
Out of curiosity, after you were watching for 15 minutes (with I assume some panning) did you notice if the time started lagging behind with the new beta firmware? I’m not on the beta firmware, but I notice if the camera pans to track movement, after a few times panning and person detecting, the stream starts running around 15-20 seconds behind real time.
I notice it because I have a monitor on the wall and if my wife for example is walking up to our door, she’s already inside when the camera is still showing her walking up our walkway.
Going back to home and reopening the camera resets the lag temporarily until it pans again. For now, I have pan and scan turned off because we have people that come and go, and I need it to be real time on the monitor without that much lag. It does stay in time sync with pan turned off.
I’ve updated and I’m still very disappointed in the pan v4. Going back to my v3 until they fix it. Too buggy. Tags weird, not able to turn off automatically returning to home. Lots of little annoyances that need ironing out. The V4 is NOT ready yet.
I just switched back to a regular V4 this morning. My Pan V4 died over night and won’t even power on. I’ll get it replaced, but I’ll wait to install it until it’s more stable.
