Wyze Cam Pan v3 won’t recognize SD cards

We were having similar issues accessing the SD cards on our Wyze Cam V3 cameras. I re-installed the Wyze Cam V3 cameras. Under Advanced options, I was able to “Manage SD Card” and I see it is full of data. I am able to open the playback screen and I can see that there appears to be recorded data and it will play the event I chose from the events list, but when I try to go back or forward, the app immediately crashes. I tried my iPhone, my iPad, through different routers, etc. Same problem. I tried going back into “Manage SD Card” and formatted the SD card and once it finished, it showed no data, so the card was empty. I waited for about one hour for data to write to the SD Card. I looked again at “Manage SD Card” and was shocked to see that the SD card looked almost full after just one hour. We have 7 Wyze Cam V3 cameras that are all doing the same thing, so it is not the SD Card causing this problem. It used to work fairly well and I believe it was a recent firmware or app update that is the cause of this problem, similar to the problem we were having the with the Wyze Flood Pro that took Wyze several weeks to resolve.

@Puesta interesting, I’ve had my Cam 3’s for yrs now with no issues at all. But all 5 of the new Pan 3’s have had the exact same issues straight out of the box

The Panv3 issue is a bug with the app and the events tab, that’s why all 5 have it.

@dave27 Thanks, that’s what I’m figuring out but what makes no sense whatsoever is why didn’t Wyze tell me that from the beginning but instead, they keep sending me replacement cameras and have yet to say there’s a known issue?

Outsourced support…

This sounds familiar. After viewing an event on my Pan V3, the app’s on screen icons offer the options of Go Live, SD Card, Share, and More. Selecting SD Card falsely reports "SD Card Not Found and offers to sell me a card. The card is installed and functional and can be accessed from the Live View screen.

Correct, that is a bug in the current app version with the Panv3 (and possibly regular v3 also).

If you view the event from the cam’s live view screen, it works fine there.

My Panv3 was connecting to & viewing my sd card just fine, until I did an update on that camera. Now I get the card not found error. I put a new card in it, rebooted & still same error. I didn’t update any of my other cameras, as I’ve learned to have 1 “test” camera b4 updating, & if it’s not broken anything, then I do the others.
I did a flash back to the previous version that it had, & the camera accessed the card just fine when booting to it. Therefore it’s accessing (card IS found), the card. But even after flashing bk, I still get card not found error. I replaced the camera w another Panv3, & NOT updating it!
