Wyze Cam OG recording to microSD card

I have a Wyze Cam OG for a little over a year, and recently I have noticed that for the past few weeks it has stopped continuously recording to its microSD card. I am not sure if this is due to a firmware update, but I have the camera set to continuously record so that I can look back at footage regardless of what time it is. Yet as of late, I am unable to do so and instead will get the message “No video available at this time.” It does seem to be recording events that I can still look at, but that is it. I am using the app on my Android phone and have formatted the SD card, looked at the settings, and ensured it is set to continuous, etc. I’ve unplugged the camera and even taken out the SD card and put it back in. Any advice would be very much appreciated. When I do all the steps above, the camera does seem to continuously record for a day, so I can look back at the recording. But then that stops after a day, and I am back to square one. Also, I am a Cam Plus subscriber.

Apologies if this question has already been asked.

As mentioned in the other thread, try a different SD card, or at least try pulling your card and formatting it with the formatter from sdcard.org. A full overwrite format will take a while but may resolve issues with the card.

A power loss or improper reboot of the camera can corrupt a card (often just “soft” corruption, but sometimes it can cause physical damage) and SD cards have a certain amount of writes they can do before they wear out, I suspect the card is probably your issue.

The symptoms you describe definitely align with an SD card issue. I have a 32GB card that I know has a bad spot around the middle, in a pinch I had to set up a spare OG cam and that’s the card I had available. It would work fine for a day or so until it hit that spot, then stop recording (but everything else worked fine). Format the card, it would work for another day. Sounds similar to what you’re seeing.

Thank you for the advice. I will try that or get a new SD card.
