Thank you so much!
Got it. I will report to dev team and let you know if there is any upate. Thank you so much!
I went through a factory reset, blah blah blah with them. Ended just returning the bad one to Amazon for replacement. I had ordered two floodlight cams and one camera. One of the floodlights cams was defective where the. Floods would permanently on.
Well, I guess returning is the only course of action to take now, since no updates. Oh well.
I recently installed 4 of these. Submitted a log for mine too. 1 will not let me turn it off. Reset breaker and all. Set up on camera isnt working and light stays on until i turn the switch off. Other 3 are working fine. It worked normal for maybe 12 hours then went to being a light 24/7
What if you toggle the light from within the app? On the live view, hit the floodlight icon in the upper right of the live view window
The one I returned would stay on no matter what you tried in the app. Toggle in the app, full manual factory reset, the light was on as soon as power was applied.
I am having the same issue as everyone else here. I just submitted. Log ID:794136.
Responding to this thread in January 2023:
After returning my floodlight to Home Depot and getting another one, I no longer have the issue. It appears to be a hardware defect.
Like OP, the camera worked fine. The only issue was that the floodlights werenât turning off. I thought it had something to do with the wiring of my house or what not. I tried everything: flipping breakers, factory reset, contacted support, etc.
So to those of you out there with the same struggle in the future, let my tale be of some use: Go get a replacement, unfortunately.
I had same issue. Return and get a new one is the only option? Just bought it from Best Buy and it is always on
I tried multiple times going through factory resets and reconfiguring. Never got a solution before I ran out of patience. So returned it and next one was fine. Could not say if support would have come up with something.
I just bought one and put up yesterday same problem! I tried the breaker, resetting it on the app nothing works found all these on here and I just put in for a return and ordered another one. The camera works great! Iâll update and when I get the replacement and hopefully it works My video doorbell works great!
Having this exact same issue. Has anyone ever found a solution?
Same problem here. Flood light has been working for months as it should. Noticed recently that itâs stuck in the on position and changing all the settings doesnât seem to make any difference.
Same issue here but in my case it happened after trying to get the camera to work because the light was working by motion for the camera was not able to connect and view other feed. I factory reset the camera which required me to do a flash of the firmware because I couldnât do it within the app. I followed the instructions online and deleted the device from the app and then did the flash on the camera and now the camera works and I see all the controls for the light but the light doesnât respond and it does turn on instantly after power is applied.
Upon a closer inspection I discovered that the motion sensor wires were damaged from over rotation. Itâs probably closed the circuit that controls those lights to turn on and off therefore keeping it permanently on. They donât make this thing easy to disassemble but itâs not an impossible job to fix if you donât feel like dealing with returns and other useless advice such as turning it on and off or pressing buttons on the app. I took a video and perhaps will put it up on YouTube, but I managed to repair the wires and now itâs working perfectly. I have had the opportunity to look at several defective cameras from a client of mine who seems to really like this product and they all seem to fail where the wires connect to the device. I would suggest that Wyze put more effort into using a wire that isnât so easily damaged or perhaps engineering the product so that it doesnât so easily break at these pain points. Itâs like your phone charger only this one has a camera attached to the end of it.
Having the same problem as everyone here. Floodlight persists on no matter what. Sounds like I have to return it per this thread.
I had the same issues and worked with the support team. After so many pictures and combinations to try and no luck. They disconnected my chat âŚI am out of luck!!! I guess that is how they do the business now these days âŚ
Hi, can you share the video or images and any pointers to fixing it? I opened the box but not able to figure out the removal of the outer arm/ connecting rod/rotating ball socket (that passes along the wires that might have disconnected) from main body. Thx in advance
