If anyone with the Home Assistant API happens to load this firmware, please let me know whether your V1 bulbs continue to function in Home Assistant well. I am concerned about testing this since I just switched a lot of my rules over to home assistant and would hate for my wife to get annoyed at breakage so soon after demonstrating how much faster I made everything by making that small change.

Do tell?
Faster vs. what?
I am all in with alexa/wyze integration pretty much.
Thanks,

I use the 3rd party Wyze Home Assistant API which allows me to bring all my Wyze Bulbs, lightstrips, plugs and a few other things like the HMS into home assistant.

I can then have smart buttons (like the Aqara smart buttons) or other sensors used to turn my bulbs on and off, etc. I also used this ha-wyzesense project to convert a bunch of Wyze sensors (Contact and motion v1 and v2 sensors) to be directly through home assistant, locally. Now all my rules to have motion sensors turn lights on and off automatically work WAY faster than when I was doing them through the Wyze app rules (which had a few seconds delay for some lighting automations).

  • Successfully updated one Bulb v1 to 1.2.0.384. Total time to update was about 45 seconds. Cursory app controls, rules, power outage recovery and WiFi outage recovery tests were positive. Will update additional bulbs tomorrow if no problems.

  • Updating Plug Outdoor from 1.2.0.333 to 1.2.0.336 was very strange. Initial attempt was made from Account > Firmware Update > Update for one specific plug using beta Android app version 2.49.0.b385. Updating took about 5 minutes and page simply changed the button from Updating to Update with no indication of error… as if I never pressed the Update button at all. I made sure Plug Outdoor was still functioning properly, then checked firmware version via Device Info > Firmware Version. That page also indicated that an update from 1.2.0.333 to 1.2.0.336 was available.

Instead of attempting a 2nd update attempt, I checked firmware version via Device Info > Firmware Version from a different Android phone running same beta app version. That check revealed that the plug was already successfully updated to 1.2.0.336. Killed app on 1st phone, restarted app and rechecked version number and 1.2.0.336 was correctly noted. Did some cursory tests and all were positive. Will update another plug late tomorrow via same path if no problems encountered.

Don’t U hate that.

Tech doubter’s need convincing.
To win them over, u need reliability.

Then a bug or flaw, puts u back at sq. one with them.

In ur case,

Good luck !

It took years to get my brother’s n friends online.
Now, they all act like, they knew it all the time. :open_mouth:

Updated 5 outdoor plugs, did 2 individually to test it out. Went well. So did bulk update on remaining 3. All went well and fairly fast, i did not have the issues that seapup had, wich is why i did the first 2 individually first. I am on android latest Android beta.
One thing I did notice before the update was that none of the plugs are reporting use history, hoped this update would fix that, but it has not. Anyone else experiencing this?

My subsequent updates today went without issue. :+1:

Yes, several of us have noticed this issue. Plug Outdoor usage reports have been missing for several months. Issue exists under both Android and iOS production and beta app versions.

I updated a few outdoor plugs at home that seem to have gone fine. Not going to update the ones at my cabin until I am on-prem there. I have them connected to some devices I can’t have go offline if I can help it.

Ok i wasn’t sure, havent had time to look if others have reported this issue. All my wyze plugs also no longer report time that they are on.
