I have unlinked and relinked my Wyze account with google home. I have deleted all apps and checked for firmware updates. But it still won’t work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The short version: Viewing any Wyze Cams in the Google Home app can be a frustratingly inconsistent experience, unless you’re using iOS; if you’re trying to do it on an iPhone, then you’re probably out of luck.
For a longer answer, you didn’t mention which OS you’re using, and I don’t see it in your profile. That’s an issue because iOS users of the Google Home app have been unable to view Wyze Cams within the app for a long time, and several topics here in the Forum discuss this. (You can seek those out with the platform’s search function.)
Using the Google Home app on an Android phone just now, I’m able to view Bulb Cam. Earlier today, however, I had repeated failures when trying to view a Cam OG in the Google Home app. That’s always been an unreliable and inconsistent experience for me, which is why I use the Wyze app for the best viewing (and more control of the cameras, as well).
Although the Google Home app doesn’t always want to stream my Wyze (or other) cameras, Google Home connected displays (Google Home Hub, Chromecast HD, and Google TV in my case) do stream the cameras pretty reliably for me, and even iOS users have reported similar results: being able to stream through Google Home screens even when they can’t stream through the iOS Google Home app. You didn’t mention whether or not you’re trying to view through Google Home that way, with a separate device and not the app, but the app might just be a no-go.
You’re far from the only person having this issue. If memory serves, I think @tc10 is another iOS user who has reported being able to view cameras on a Google TV device but not within the Google Home app on an iOS device and has participated in many of the Forum topics about this specific issue. That’s who comes to mind with a lot of discussion about this very problem.
I wish I had a better answer for you, though I think this is something that Google and Apple probably need to work out between themselves. My own suspicion is that Google keeps making changes so that the Google Home app better accommodates and integrates their own Nest cameras and that this sometimes causes problems streaming other connected cameras. For instance, I have never been able to get my Tapo cameras to stream within the Google Home app, but they stream just fine on a Google TV, Home Hub, or Chromecast device. Since the Wyze app itself is working fine for you, I’d stick with that.
I register my Wyze cams on Google Home app. This then allows me to access all of my Wyze cams on my Google TV (as mentioned by @Crease), they also can be viewed on various Google displays … but not iPads or iPhones.
Several of us have been in Google forums and talked to Google to get this fixed.
In part I believe the reason is that the Google TV and other Google Displays, I think, run on Android OS.
I have low expectation that Google will allow streaming of Wyze on iOS Google app. It seems so close but .. no.
As mentioned by @Crease and others, I also use Wyze app to see cams on iOS devices.
I also use Amazon/Alexa to see my Wyze cams on my TVs with Fire TV interface. This works very well. Alexa does show my Wyze cams one at a time in the Alexa app on my iPhones & iPads, as well.
