Wyze app Android Hotfix - Released 11/26/2024

Today we are releasing hotfix version 3.2.7.595 for the Android version of the Wyze app to fix an issue that caused the app to crash.

3.2.7 595 just hit Google Play.

At first blush it appears to fix the app crash associated with opening a non-grouped WBCP.

The release notes said something about an issue with the SD card. I am not aware of this issue. May be a typo.

So far so good. Now to retest everything.

How about fixing the fact that events play without audio enabled by default? SO DUMB!

Set all Video to Default with Playing Audio

Please set all Video (Livestream, Cloud Events, SD card Playback) to default to playing audio like it used to be (or make a setting toggle option). Recently, many people have been expressing frustration that Wyze changed camera video to default to being muted in the v3.2 app. They have given several logical rationales as to why it should be the other way around. That has been related on to Wyze. However, the Wish only has 5 votes so far. Hopefully that number will increase.

I personally have no issue with the sound not being on by default, but do see a lot of requests for this.

Rather than setting a default, I would prefer it to be an app setting and allow the end users the ability to set their own default. Something like this is subjective and would never meet everyone’s need unless they can set it themselves.

No BCPs, but app continues to work fine as far as I can tell.

Just curious if event filters are working for you all? I get all motion events regardless of my filter settings.

Appears to have fixed the constant issue of being sent to the home screen/crashing totally when im reviewing events or trying to view playback from sd card. However i am encountering a new issue with my detection settings being changed to smart detections on 2 of my v4 cams without my changing it and im the only one who has access to my cams. On My other v4 cam which i had detection zone enabled on, i had blocked out most of the screen on except for a maybe 3x7 square section. When i checked it earlier because it had no events recorded, the entire screen was blocked out.
Heck when they do record like they should you cant view the playback without problems, when you can view the playback without issue the detection settings keep changing on their own so there is nothing to view🤪 what a PITA
