Is this thing on? :cam_v3:
When you display several cams in the app simultaneously (group) and some or all of those cams are not aimed at ‘active’ scenes, it becomes difficult to discern if a cam is ‘online’ (currently streaming) or if you are just looking at a still image the app has cached.
Activity of the bitrate display is one clue (imperfect)
But it doesn’t display on each cam’s feed when viewed in a group
Which leaves you watching the timestamp to see if the feed has stalled (or is displaying a static image.)
Which can suck because the background of an image may prevent you from reading the timestamp (white timestamp on light background.)
And any cam viewed in a group, with reduced image size? Forget about it.
So maybe a simple visual clue, big enough to quickly scan for and see, a colored dot, maybe shimmering,…
If this thing is on…
It should be a toggle setting though. Sometimes I don’t want something on the screen when I am trying to screen capture a video, but there are times I want to know if it is still streaming or stalled out,and as you said, it can be hard to tell when the timestamp is on something light/white.
Agree. tinyCam has a nice toggle-able display that works well in a group:
How about combining the Wyze logo with this shimmering icon? Like a rotating Wyze logo.
Couldn’t find one spinning…
…but I did find an eyeball.
Be sure to vote in my wishlist timestamp visibility thread… Timestamp Customization (location, color, size, etc.)
Hey, didn’t see that, voted!
! Antonionius !
What do you think of @IL1 's spinning logo idea, is a winner? Or are we still
maybe later probably not ?
I don’t have cams in groups so I won’t vote
C’mon, be like Congress, you vote for our bill now, we’ll vote for your bill later. Be a pragmatist, they always win!
Yeah! vote to pass it before you know what it is.
I voted for @tbagcam’s wishlist request when it was first posted.
Timestamp should be in a very high contrast uncommon color: Browns Florescent Orange or Steelers Gold.
Wow, if I see this eyeball when I decide to check on my live stream in the middle of the night…
Yep, 'twould make a better ‘Easter egg’, maybe.
Ok, a prototype spinner:
I think the timestamp and logo should remain white but has a darker semi transparent background box around it.
Then the timestamp could still be used as an indicator.
I think a spinning logo would be too distracting.
Can we make it pulse at least?
Not even as a toggled option??
Or just have the last colon blinking, like this?
