In case some of you didn’t know… the app version to which this topic applies is not the most recent/current version. The current Wyze app version topic is here:
I found the solution to my issues with the app. The app would get stuck loading the live stream when selected. I restarted, reset, deleted and reinstalled the cameras and the app. The app is problem, it no longer functions on android 10. I bought a new phone with android 16 and now the app, the same app version works flawlessly.
I tried that too. “on” and “off”. no effect. I also tried my Amazon FireMax tablet, that didn’t work either. I tried two newer phones (2025 models) of my friends and the app worked as advertised.
I’ve been using my Motorola moto g7 since 2019, as well. It’s no longer my primary phone, but I use it daily for some things, and I’m glad it shipped with 64-bit Android so that it can continue running current versions of the Wyze app, at least so far.
I checked that also, the phone is 64 bit as well. Just one of the reasons I wasn’t suspecting my phone to be the issue. Possibly your phone received updates on the OS that my phone didn’t receive.
I’m responding to my own post at the beginning of this thread. I commented that finally friendly faces was getting some love as Wyze added a “family” automation trigger to some cameras in this release, including my front yard v3pro.
Background–
I’ve been dutifully maintaining “friendly faces” for the past 1 1/2 years?. Other than an occasional proper identification of a face I have found no value in the feature.
That has changed. With the advent of this Trigger I have been able to solve a somewhat vexing problem with notifications.
Bringing in the groceries!!
This typically generates some 25 notifications as my better half and I make 5 trips to the car–in the process triggering a notification from the driveway, front yard, doorbell, living room, and kitchen cameras. Unless I remember to turn off all notifications before hand, which I never remember.
And it works. I went from 25 notifications to a few from the doorbell (Wyze did not include the trigger).
IMHO this is the type of feature that can differentiate Wyze from the crowd. I don’t know who at Wyze is championing this but kudos and may your budget grow substantially.
Now for the next challenge. I would like our dog to become recognized and the 30 notifications she generates daily be reduced by a magnitude.
For the record I have the top tier pro feature. Samsung S24 Ultra, Android 16,app ver 3.8.7 725
