Some people here don’t fancy the UI change, no idea how many, but certainly many people in the v3-only customer base will chafe at a major change, having adapted to the shortcomings of the old UI, now needing to adapt to the new, or roll back the app and hunker down after it auto updates, which is only possible/practical with Android, I think, and is no longer as painless as it used to be even there.
Updated yesterday without issue. All seemed normal until about 7:30 pacific time. Then I noticed that some of the thumbnails on my favorites and events screen were missing. Thought this was odd so I re-cleared the app cache. This did not help.
Logged out of app. On reload I got a blank Google screen. I tried a few more times without success.
I restarted the phone and reran the same steps. It did not clear.
Then went to my tablet but did not logout. Took a screenshot of the missing thumbnails.
I am not sure if this is a beta issue or if Wyze is having cloud issues. I did not notice the issue for almost 24 hrs which makes me lean toward a cloud issue. Waiting for everyone to leave the house. Will restart the network.
I can live with some missing thumbnails but not being able to login is a big deal.
The beta app updated fine for me. I have a mix of V3 and older V2 cameras and a Doorbell V1. The UI update for the V3 cameras is very well done. I wish this update would make it to the older devices.
One bug - the video feed for the Doorbell V1 initially loads rotated 90 degrees. Once it establishes the stream the video appears correctly oriented vertically, but the original rotated image persists in the background.
I’m asking out of curiosity, because I don’t have the Video Doorbell (“v1”) and don’t use iOS: Are you seeing this on both platforms? I notice your profile here says that you use “Both iOS & Android”, so noting whether this is a platform-specific bug could be helpful for troubleshooting before this advances to RC or production status.
The only “Android” that I still use now is an emulator. I can try to reproduce the issue but I don’t know if this would be worth while since it is not an official platform.
I had the same issue on my IOS phone. I did restart phone but not camera and now it seems like image is correct orientation. As to changing home screen option in settings, I actually liked the new format except it doesn’t allow you to toggle live view videos. For that reason, for now, I am back to “Comfortable” versus “Condensed” camera view in “app” tab of “Account” settings…just in case others may not have played with it yet.DJ
In the new camera UI, with the timeline view, it is not clear when there is a large gap in the time, especially when the gap spans over midnight. Large time gaps should provide a visual indicator (perhaps a wider or gradated dividing bar). Additionally, the date or day of the week should be shown when the day changes on the timeline.
