4K TVs are really cheap right now, unless you have a 120".
Yeah Iām tempted, too and the equivalent tech in current models, is almost half what I paid for this TV. But it such a waste and Iām not much of a TV watcher. BTW, this TV is already 4K.
What is the refresh rate? Maybe go for an 8K.
I donāt watch TV. I got rid of cable and put up an antenna that I donāt use. I live on Roku and YouTube.
Canāt remember now but probably very low, typical of its generation.
I donāt know where I can get 8K sources. Definitely not the local cable companies.
I remember saying that when I got my first 1K TV. 4K isnāt too, old is it?
My 4K TV went bad under extended warranty. They replaced my 60Hz with a 120Hz refresh rate and new Smart TV options. I also have a surround sound system that acts like a fancy switch box. Many options out there.
EDIT: Seems 4K TVs came out in 2012. Time sure does fly.
HDMI switch w/remote is available. I am currently using one, but itās only a 3 port switch. Remote is smaller than a Fire TV stick remote. Good selection on Amazon.

Hi there,
Iām Wyze-E, an AI assistant that works with the Wyze Wizards team. Iāve prepared a solution for you below. Check it out - if it doesnāt completely resolve your issue, simply reply and a human agent will take over to offer more help.
You are having trouble finding the Hardware Decoder toggle in the latest Android app version 3.2.6.592. You have already been given steps to enable it, but you are still seeking further assistance with this issue.
To help resolve this, I recommend checking for any available updates for the app or trying to reinstall it. Sometimes, reinstalling the app can restore missing features. If the toggle is still not visible after these steps, it may be a temporary issue that could be addressed in a future update.
Thanks for being a part of Wyze!

Can anyone with 3.2.6.592 confirm that the Hardware Decoder toggle is present or missing in their instance before I try reinstalling the app? Thanks! ![]()
I canāt do that, but I can say that I donāt see it in Android production app v3.2.7.595. I do see it in app v2.50.9.215, which isnāt a surprise. Iām just confirming that it was present in older apps.
Iām also wondering why the absence of the toggle is mucking things up for you. ![]()
Itās been missing for the past few releases, including current Android beta 3.3.0.b596.
Thanks guys! I was hanging back on 3.0.0.519-62219 because later versions had a bug affecting Cam Plus Lite (unable to filter Events by Person.)
Since Iām demo-ing Cam Unlimited, I uninstalled and updated to 3.2.6.592 (the latest version available to me in the Play Store.)
Whenever you uninstall/reinstall the app, you have to reenable the Hardware Decoder toggle - without which, app performance is sluggish on my device.
With 3.2.6.592, it is WAY more than sluggish, especially when extensively
- Browsing a cam group of eight
- Watching/navigating through multiple Events
Deteriorating to the point of the app bogging down and all-but-freezing ā needing to be force closed and cache cleared.
My phone is midrange and five or six years old but hasnāt been underpowered for my purposes so far. ![]()
Same here, especially bad on low-mid range tablets.
Oof. That sounds painfully frustrating. I appreciate the detail and wish I had a solution for you.
Iām on
Unless Iām not understanding the issue it would appear it has been moved to the I individual camera āAdvanced Settingsā.
It appears on my 3-WBCP, 2-v4ās, doorbell V2.
It is not available on my 3-ps v3ās.
I thought they appeared magically after updating to b596. I did some preliminary testing with my WBCPās and observed a difference to the load time. The Hardware selection reduced the load time from approximately 12 seconds to approximately 10 seconds. No noted side effects.
p. s I believe the default for all the cams was "Hardware Decoder - On
Thank you.
I see it for some cam types like v4 and BCP, but not others like v2, v3 and all WCO and Cam Pan versions. Now Iām wondering if for those cam types included, is the ācamā setting persistent across all viewing devices or is the setting maintained per cam/per phone/tablet. If the former, that kind of sucks as I need it On for high end phones, but off for all other phone/tablets. The way it used to be when the option was located under App Settings was on a per viewing device basis, i.e., unique setting per app instance.
A big silver lining to my decision to demo-up from Lite to Unlimited, is that it solved the Playback Doesnāt Work From the Event View BUG:
I had installed an additional six Cam V3s and they all suffered from the bug (I had two older ones that did not) even after upgrading to Cam Unlimited. When I then updated the app to current, problem gone!
Navigating from Event to corresponding SD Card footage in the latest app is solid and crisp.
So far, SD browsing in general is actually⦠fun? ![]()
Nah, itās never been the money, itās a good deal, they give you a lot. itās the ever-expanding COMPLEXITY of the top-tier offerings. Liteās limitations were/are comforting to simple frog (by comparison.)

Bah. Wonder good (exercise.)
I GOT IT. I would still like to have crank the handle telephones and three channels on the TV, we would all be better off. ![]()
