Wyze app 3.2.6 - Released 11/19/2024

v2.50.9.512
Just downloaded that version from Google Play and installed it on my tablet. Yeah!

Been trying for months to find a usable
version of their apo to replace the
updated version(s) from a month or so
ago. I lost track of time to tell you the truth.

Anyway, now I don’t have to buy a new tablet.

That is the downside of technology. Things get old too fast.

Doorbell v2 has been going “offline” continuously since 11/20/2024

Before then it was working fine. I looked at my router and it says that is been active for over an hour. I did notice on the app there is no signal strength but yet my router reports excellent connection. Im guessing there is app update that messed with something.

I think everything is working fine in my non-doorbell cam and non-battery cam environment.

I have no complaints at this time.

Software/firmware updates are the real problem whether it’s your smart tv or your phone.

Oftentimes the update creates new problems like what happened with the Wyze App update.

I never update my phone going on two years now because everytime I did, crazy things started to happen. Gonna do the same with Wyze from now on.

Guess I have been lucky or fortunate.

No issues with smart TVs or phones but an occasional goof by Wyze. Windows updates used to be scary. Technology needs upgrades to advance and correct issues.

I pretty much lease my cellphone. I trade mine in every two to three years. Trade-in values can be helpful in keeping the phone up to date, and secure. I did wait three years to buy a Windows 11 PC. I was holding out for Windows 12.

Technology can be a challenge.

As well as part from your hard earned cash

Needed to help the economy. :money_bag:

SmartTVs, no matter the model (I have a Vizio), oftentimes stop responding after updates. You’ll be watching TV and all at once the TV stays stuck on the channel that you’re watching. Can’t turn up the volume, change channels or even turn it off. You literally have to unplug the TV, wait x number of minutes, change the batteries in your remote, discharge any stored electricity by holding the TVs on/offbutton for x number of seconds, etc. then pray when you plug it back in the set is back to normal. The TV engages in a process known as “bricking.”

Some advise you not to connect your smart tv to the internet while others suggest you use a “dumb” tv and hook-up a Roku or other streaming device which is exactly what I did when my Vizio, after six years, bricked for the last time a couple of weeks ago.

I’m using a twenty plus year old Orion TV, converter box and a Roku that connects to the tv with RCA cables. Pays to hold on to old technology.

I plan on buying another smart tv but only if the black Friday/ Cyber Monday sales are “spectacular.”

Otherwise, I’ll watch TV old school

I enjoy old school methods, but not in tech.

I enjoy my 4K TV with Dolby 5.1. Never had an update issue with Samsung TVs or phones. I do enjoy my Roku but haven’t used my DVD/CD player in years. I even lease a new car every two to three years. Guess I have been suckered into the new economy. I am slow to upgrade my PCs.

Choice is good.

Never happened to me in all my years and never heard of this until now. I think I will ignore…

Nobody is helping my economy

I never had any issues with my two Samsungs at home and Hisense Roku at the cottage.

Ditto!

I’ve got Wyze. 3.2.7.595 and ever since I “updated” from the old “rules” system to the new (and unfunctional) “automations” system most of my cameras and light etc will not follow any of the “automations” that I had to set up. I’ve replaced my wifi router, hooked everything up all brand new again, deleted the app and re-installed it twice. Unplugged everything and started over from scratch more times than I care to count. I can’t get my outside light to come on according to the “scheduled automation” where I had no trouble with it before under the “rules” software. I can’t get my cameras to turn on when I leave and off when I come home like I could before. Now before I leave for ANY period of time, I have to leave the outside light on manually, and I have to make sure all of my cameras are turned on manually and reconnect any of them that have “lost connection” overnight. Then, when I’m trying to get to sleep, cameras just start cycling themselves in the middle of the night, turning themselves on, spinning from lock to lock and making all of their noises. This software has turned out to be nothing but a headache and a bunch of crapware. I want to go back to the software that actually worked, does anyone know how to do that? I’m all ears if you know of a mirror site or anything like that where I get the original Wyze software without a bunch of crap along with it. Thank you!

I have a very old big Samsung smartTV. No problems whatsoever but I’m running out of HDMI ports.

@kelliesue77 - Now that you are part of the Walmart technical infrastructure (it just completed purchase of Vizio), hopefully, returns and/or replacements will be favorable. :grinning:

Search the forum, there are multiple links for to how to roll back. I am on iOS, so can’t help you here.

Wouldn’t an HDMI switch/splitter help?

It does work but it’s not switchable from the remote.

Yeah, I hear you buddy. It is hard to get rid of stuff that works just to catch up with technology
