Wyze App 3.0 = Terrible

Cameras take forever to load

Start up fine the first few then after the live feature is trying to load all 16 cameras then downhill

I even tried just clicking on 1 camera and take forever to load

No I cannot revert back to 2.5 since I have iPhone . Wish I really could . Ever since this 3.0 came out hasn’t been the same at all .

Does your LAN have the bandwidth to simultaneously connect to 16 cameras? I really doubt it. That’s why it’s slow. Remove the cameras from the “Favorites” tab, and try again using the “Devices” tab.

I am not using favorite tabs

Using device tabs only

I have 500mb plan and have 3 mesh router system covering my small 1400 sf home

If that was the case why would Wyze have a feature like this knowing that it might not work for some people that doenst have fast bandwidth

They should give you the options IMO

Your internet speed doesn’t matter if you’re trying to connect from within your LAN. Your internet download speed doesn’t matter either during the connection phase; it’s your upload speed that’s important.

I’m now having to clear Storage and cache about every other day, it’s the only way the app doesnt report not having cameras (thermostats also report being offline unless I clear storage).

Really starting to think about another system, which will be painful since we’ve invested a ton in to this one.

App update sucks.

I had the same internet speed for the past 4 years along with the same 26 cameras

One camera system 16 cameras at my house in cali Specturm 500-20 upload

One camera system in Arizona house 10 camera
Cox interendt 1000/1000

Both houses have same issues

Doesn’t seem to be upload issue since the cox internet has high upload

I do appreciate your response and help with this though

I would love to throw this “New And Improved App” in the trash…unfortunately I have too many cams and plugs.

Wyze…Fix This Mess!

I feel your pain

I have 26 cameras between 2 houses and multiple wyze plugs and Wyze light bulbs

Same. They close tickets before they are resolved, without any notification, and delete forum threads after 3 months so others don’t realize how long the app has been having issues. I won’t buy more of their stuff and will steer people to other solutions.

Have you tried the new 3.2 app that was released today?

I don’t see any 3.2

I currently have 3.1.6 (1)

I was referring to this post from earlier today. I was waiting till tomorrow.

Not sure what happened, but the app looks totally different on the “Events” tab. Now the videos scroll up and down as opposed to left and right. The app slowed down my phone so bad I was forced to restart it. It is now unusable. I have been trialing these two cameras (floodlight with v3 and v3 camera) for about 1.5 years, and the app has gone from good to bad to worse. I was actually thinking about switching from my other camera system to Wyze prior to this latest release, but this is a showstopper.

Edit: After the restart of the phone it seems to be working much better. Maybe something else was going on.

Any idea when the app will be updated for local network use on iOS 18?

Have you allowed local network access to Wyze app?

Yep, changed that when iOS18 launched, I keep ahead of system changes unlike Wyze.

Strange, here we are both on iOS 18 and Wyze app 3.X, yet I don’t have any issues but you do. I wonder what is the difference?

Geographic location?
