I just installed 2 V2’s and while it does notify me when there’s movement, it’s my default bottle opener. I don’t know if it’s the Wyze app or text. I checked the setting in account/notifications/Push notifications/Notification sound and have Wyze Sound 1 selected, but it still plays my default sound. App is current and camera FW is all up to date.
I’ve personally never been able to use any of the Wyze app’s sounds as the notification sound on my phone, regardless of which of those sounds I choose, so I just personalize it in Android settings.
At this point, I’d be really impressed if I learned that someone is able to use a built-in Wyze app sound successfully, just out of curiosity. If you ever do get it to work, I’m all ears.
It used to work for me last year, then an app update broke it, I got it working by reinstalling the app, then another app update broke it again and reinstalling didn’t help. This was all on the 2.5 app. 3.0 app doesn’t work for me either. I gave up and just picked a system sound that works for me, actually I like it better than the Wyze sound anyway. No more messing around with it.
If you’ve tried several settings in the app, your phone’s settings will probably show several copies of “wyzenotification” or whatever it is called. Just change the sound on the one that shows it has had notifications recently, the others can be ignored.
NOTE - do not uninstall the app if you are still on the 2.X version. That likely means your device is not compatible with 3.x and you can no longer do a new install of 2.X!!
