Tried updating to latest App on a Samsung S8+ android phone and it deleted the working app on my phone. The new version of the app is not compatible and Version 2.5 is not available on Google play or the wyze website. Contacted Customer support multiple times, got a ticket number, and they have been no help. Said this old Grandpa has to get a new phone which I cannot afford. Been a Wyze customer including Cam plus for over 2 and 1/2 years, and now have 6 cameras on cam plus.
Please explain why you cannot support your customers and products with the old app that worked on my Samsung Galaxy s8+ phone or where it can be downloaded from.

Do you know which app version (what you described as “the working app”) you had on your phone previously? Since Google Play Store is unlikely to offer you an older version to install, some users will instead install the app from a site like APKPure or APKMirror. That might be your best option for now, but I don’t know what OS (which Android version and whether it’s 32- or 64-bit) runs on your Galaxy S8+, and the particulars of your OS might be the determining factor for you.
Wyze has been making changes to some Cams’ firmware to improve the security, and some of those changes are making those newer firmware versions incompatible with older versions of the app, so they’ve been pushing e-mail and in-app messaging urging users to update. In many cases—particularly for users with older phones who want to use newer Cams—replacement of the phone hardware is probably going to be the ultimate solution, but that’s how things are going with other apps and technology in general: Google and phone manufacturers aren’t going to support older Android versions indefinitely, and over time it becomes more and more necessary to replace the phones if we want to have the latest security and other feature updates protecting our data.
