Wyze 3.0 Widgets

Anyone have any luck with the new 3.0 widgets?

I set them up and they look good, but for some reason, the settings are not saved.

Widgets are working for me using 3.0.0.519 under Android 14. Although the “Favorite Devices” widget should be “Device” widget and pull from the Devices list. We shouldn’t have to favorite a device to create a widget.

Your screenshot appears to be Android. What app and OS version are you running? At what point are settings lost? I’ll try to reproduce your issue.

Thanks @Seapup ,

I am on Android 14, OUI 6.1 on an a9+ tablet.

It seems to work at first. Everything appears as expected. If I visit the app directly and return later, I find the widgets in their initial state. When I try to set up the widgets again, I am taken to the app and not the same screen I saw before.

I should try setting up widgets on my s24 with same Android version. I am using the latest 3.0 Wyze app.

Thanks for any guidance.

Odd. I’ve been playing with widgets on a A35 and a S23. I killed app, restarted phones, no problems. I’ll try on a few Android tablets.

Thanks. I will try on my S24 and S21 tomorrow. Must be me or my device. Good to know it works.

I reproduced your issue on Tab A7 and 8 tablets. The widgets initially worked. I rebooted and the widgets appeared to lose settings. Tapping the widgets took me to the 3.0 home page instead of intended cam or whatever. To fix the issue I backed out of the app, killed app in background, started Wyze app, waited 10 seconds, backed out of app, widgets loaded. I started the test over by rebooting the tablets. Widgets blank. Instead of tapping a widget, I started the Wyze app. Back out of app to the Android home page, and widgets loaded. Tapped widgets, they worked as intended. I see the same issue under Wyze app 2.50.x.

Interesting. I just tried on my S24 and couldn’t set up apps at all. When I click on add app, it takes me to wherever I left off in the app with no prompting.

I turned off my VPN and it didn’t make any difference. I will retry with your steps.

UPDATE: No change. I will try your steps on the tablet. I had better luck there

Do you mean, “set up widgets”?

They were just blank. I clicked add but it just took me to the 3.0 app.

I went in and backed out again and one of the widgets work on my s24.

When they’re blank or it looks like your widget settings are lost, start up the Wyze app and they should load. Widget must have some dependency on something initialized by the app. That’s a bug.

It’s working better. I did not realize I needed to add a cam to the top icon. I was given a blank select screen on the phone.

I see you posted. Thanks for your help.

No problem. :+1: If you reboot your phone and wait for everything to finish loading, your widget will probably be blank and tapping the blank widget will take you to the app home page instead of your selected cam. Back out of the app and the widget should load with your previous settings.

Thanks @Seapup .

I will just setup this one widget. I tried the others. They also work, but this is all I need.
