Have the wireless pro - after recent software update it will no longer connect to app…
Tried reinstalling it - this works just fine -
But in the App clicking on this device is frozen. The cam lights the yellow led then the red, the off. It appears to respond to movement as the spotlight turns on. All other fixed and pan cameras are all ok.
This is all on a 2.4 only router. Was working fine - then not..
Did you try any or all of this.
Tried the Factory Reset and then re added… multiple times - goes thru all the steps even the Finish - but will not connect live stream or access to device … yet the red led lights up when accessed from app -
Read thru various postings going back to 2024 - and it seems this happens after a firmware update , which was our case … firmware updated and then could not connect, but camera was still working and triggering the spotlight.
No way to fix - so after the update, it’s bricked…
No recourse - just a $50 bricked camera
If it completes the setup, it isn’t bricked. Have you tried a different device, or see if it connects in web view (even if you don’t have a subscription you can view one cam on web view for free).
Has anything else changed, your router, a setting on your wifi, differen’t internet provider, etc?
OK, but have you tested with a different device or web view? Or at the very least, clear the cache in the wyze app (both within the app and in your OS settings)?
If you don’t delete the cam from the app prior to the factory reset, it basically just re-adds it exactly how it was before, so if there was a corrupt setting or something, it may have just carried over. That’s why trying with a different device would help rule that in or out.
Deleted the cam - then re-add …
Same in App
Same in Wyze Web Portal -,can see cam to select,
click on it - tries to connect - NOPE
What recent update was it - app or firmware?
Have you tried using a different device to delete it from the app, then factory reset the cam, then re-add (all from that other device)?
I’ve bought another one - and will see how that works and will definitely NOT update the firmware…
The camera appears to be working, as it triggers on movement with led blinking and spotlight turns on - just no connecting to App…
and yet it can be re-installed …
Will see how the new one works -
Well - bought another one … and same result -
Will go thru the entire Setup just fine, but will not start the Live Stream at the end.
Failed Code -15
I now have TWO useless Wyze Wireless camera pros. All the other normal v2,3,4 cameras work just fine.
Apperars that issue has been around for a couple of years, send the new one back. ![]()
And … trying another device - iPad -
Loaded the Wyze App on our iPad- and setup the wireless cam pro - same non functioning result -
All other cameras can connect live stream…
The wireless cam pro will setup ok - just not connect and displays Failed connect Code -15
So
iPhone & App - not connected
iPad & App - not connected
Web browser & portal - not connected
I don’t have that cam. It says it can use either the 2.4 or the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi ,band, which did you set it up on? On the app have you gone to settings > Device Info > and looked at the signal Strength, 1-3 bars?
Have you tried to connect via cell data?
I would still send the one you just got back. ![]()
Tried with router set to 2.4 only.. no change -
Since it will not connect - can’t display any App data that relies on an actual connection..,
Signal strength - and it’s sitting about 6 ft away - was working about 30 ft away in garden.
As done before -
Reset router to only 2.4 freq
On camera - press button for 10secs
On iPhone- close and reopen WiFi for 2.4 access
Use Wyze App to add camera - go thru all Setup
After Setup - Try to establish connection…
nope - Failed Code -15
Been having the exact same issue for some time now. Two cameras are practically useless.
While checking Wyze’s firmware history, I found something directly relevant to your Error 15 investigation.
In Nov 2023, Wyze released Battery Cam Pro firmware 1.3.21.2031 to fix a bug that caused Live View to disconnect during extended continuous local recording.
That’s remarkably similar to our symptoms. It doesn’t prove the same defect has returned, but it raises the possibility of a regression.
