I want to see what animal is coming into my yard at night. I think it’s a raccoon- I’m leaving it food, the food is gone, but the camera isn’t recording anything or alerting me. I have the dish in the green field and the sensitivity set to the max. It captures my husband and Me if we go out. Also if I just look at my yard during the day I see squirrels in the area and they aren’t captured then either.
For small heat sources like squirrels and raccoons the outdoor cam would need to be very close to the animal to trigger a recording.
Try the wired V2 and its camera based motion detection. It is exceedingly good at picking up squirrels.
