My wife’s headphones ear pads are starting to fall apart after 2 years of use. I am not finding anything on site or forums here where to buy replacement pads.
Does anyone have a link to replacement pads or if they have purchased 3rd party ones, which ones do you recommend?
Finally!
Yes… I have 3 needing replacement in my household and 1 more for my daughter studying out of state.
When will we get more in stock? Fabric options?
Excellent headset but poor support for those needing to replace them? End of life?
Can anyone from Wyze confirm when these replacement pads will be back in stock? I have been looking at the store page almost every week for months now with no update.
Anyone else here had any luck with aftermarket / 3rd party replacements?
How embarrassing for Wyze that they don’t offer replacement ear pads. They are literally planning their own obsolescence from the headphones market.
Their headphones are great but without new ear pads, they are useless! I won’t be recommending these to anyone anymore.
I’ve been an audio engineer/producer for decades, and replacing ear pads after a couple years is standard with every pair of headphones I’ve ever used or seen, until now. Again, how embarrassing for Wyze!
Yep. I asked a few months ago- the support lady had no idea- IF or WHEN. Nada.
Poor support. Not backing their products with replacement parts.
Blatantly an “it is not our problem anymore”.
Making a DIY replacement pads guide for posterity
Get replacement pads from Amazon:
Basically, any 90mm pads should work. 85mm might work as well. Might be a snug fit. YMMV.
Remove old pads. Follow the youtube link posted in this thread : Headphone replacement pads - #7 by anthonybrowndc
or direct youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r5l9eF_G1I
Remove the Foam “Gasket” ring-ee from the pad. It should be pretty easy to just peel it off.
Start peeling off the old pad from the inside of the ring.
The old pad completely peeled off from the inside ring-ee
Optional: You can try to peel off the inside fabric mesh which denotes L or R for the cups. I could not.
Put the ring (and mesh if you were successful in the new pads.
Cut off some of the excess cover.
Cut off room for the plastic snaps/locks.
Place the foam gasket ring-ee from earlier.
Repeat for the other pad. Snap the pads back in place.
The amazon replacements have been holding well for me for over a year. If I would have waited for Wyze… would still be waiting I guess.
Hope this helps someone. Will definitely help me for sure when I have to replace them again.
Thx for posting this! I’ve replaced pads for decades on other headphones, but they were always the official replacement pads. Was thinking of trying this as well and happy to hear you’ve had some success with it.
