Including details about which doorbell model you’re using or referring to would be especially helpful when discussing something like this, because different doorbells operate differently:
- Video Doorbell (Wired) (“v1”) uses Wyze Chime and can have more than one Chime connected at a time.
- Video Doorbell Pro uses Chime Pro and is limited to a single Chime Pro because of the way that device acts as a wireless hub/bridge/gateway in order for Video Doorbell Pro to have a wireless connection to your network and the Internet.
- Video Doorbell v2 is intended for use with wired doorbell chimes, like the built-in mechanical chimes installed in many homes.
- Duo Cam Doorbell introduced Wi-Fi Chime (now apparently called Universal Wi-Fi Chime), which is optional and can be added to your LAN as a separate Wi-Fi device. Because Wi-Fi Chime is compatible with all doorbell models (as well as other Wyze Cams), you can connect that to any of the Wyze video doorbells and have it sound a chime via Automations.
Wi-Fi Chime is probably going to be your easiest solution. Again, though, depending on the doorbell model you’re using, you may have other options, including the Cameras as Chime feature. I use several Cam OGs as accessory chimes for my Video Doorbell v2.
