I can understand that confusion, and learning to use the categories and tags here in the Forum can take some time along with trial and error. Since the video doorbells have cameras, their tags are listed in the Cameras category. If we knew which specific model you had questions about (because that’s going to determine to some degree which chime you’re referring to in your topic title), then we could reclassify your post so that the category and tag are a better match for your topic’s content.
I noticed you have another post that appears to be tagged for Duo Cam Doorbell, and that model uses a removable rechargeable battery but can also be wired to a transformer for continuous microSD recording. As noted in the post I quoted above, that doorbell model includes Wi-Fi Chime when purchased from Wyze, but please be aware that some authorized retailers like Home Depot also offer it without the chime. If you purchase the Duo Cam Doorbell with Wi-Fi Chime, then the Wi-Fi Chime plugs into an electrical outlet just like if you were plugging in a typical wired Wyze Cam.
