What wyzecam versions support Free Camplus Lite?

Yes I remember few years ago, I thought they only supported 32GB so that is why I bought that a while back. What type of people would need more than that many days of footage then?

It seems like a 32gb micro sd card costs like $8.50 and you could get a 128gb micro sd card for like $17. So does it make sense to pay double where you get 4x much space?

Would this be good for the wyzecam 3 as it’s 128gb?

32GB suits me fine.

I did get a 128 GB for the v4 since it is a 2.5K cam.

I also only record events.

Opinions will vary. :grinning:

I like to spend the big $$. These are $19.26 on Amazon today.
I have both the 128 and 256 versions.

I use a lot of those exact 128GB SD cards from SanDisk in my cameras. I’ve had some recording continuously since 2020 and they’re still going strong.

FYI, these are pretty much identical but slightly cheaper because it’s a 2 pack deal:

Having said that, I would actually recommend the High Endurance card for basically the same price:

If you only record events, aren’t this going to be a lot of hours then as oppose to continuously?

Okay. But is what I posted in my link fine though for the 128gb one? What cameras do you use it with?

Do you have any opinion on the link I posted of the sandisk 128gb micro sd card? I bought it but not sure if I should return it or not for a smaller 32gb one?

Price is double but has 4x the space with 128gb compared to 32gb. But I always used a 32gb one without any issue. The 32gb one cost 8.50 and the 128gb one cost $17 and I figure hey it’s double the price but much more gb. The thing however is I don’t use micro sd cards for anything else like regular cameras or android phone or anything else like how people use microsd cards for other things. The 2 other wyzecam that are currently working uses 32gb micro sd card.

That falls under personal preference.

I think carverofchoice already confirmed that he’s using the same cards on some of his cameras. BTW, all my 32GB cards are Kingston Class 10 and they’ve been going strong for over two years. I have the same card in my dash cam that is over three years old.

What you’ve got there should be fine.

I use use them (128GB) in all my V3 cameras and the 256GB cards in my V3 Pro and V4. I do Continuous recording so I need good cards. Some of them have been in over 2 years without any problems.

32GB cards set to Continuous Recording is fine for me. Some of my High Endurance SD cards are 2.5 years old and still going strong. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe v3 cameras like a 32GB card or smaller when doing a manual flash of firmware. I periodically have to manually flash back to older firmware when problems arise so that is another reason for me to just leave 32GB cards in all of my v3 cameras.

Like other’s mentioned it is entirely personal preference. I went with 128GB SanDisk High endurance cards for all 5 of my V3 cameras because I will have around 260 to 280 hours of recording footage at 1080p recording.

I like it continuous recording so I don’t bother turning if it off. Sometimes if I need a particular footage I know I have enough time to go back and pull that footage. I’ll only get 256GB if it gets cheap enough, but at the time 128GB offered the best bang for buck for me.

I believe it is the opposite. I don’t record still images. Continuous records non-stop dark or light. In a week’s time I have used about 11GB on my v4 2.5K cam. Even less on the 1K cams. I don’t save events, unless I want to save it off somewhere else.

It’s a personal preference.

People that have fortresses and/or animal kingdoms.

Agreed.

32GB micro sd cards of good quality have worked fine since 2019. For event-only recoding, I don’t see and require any need for endurance cards. I know many believe otherwise.

I prefer 128GB cards. They tend to last longer with fewer problems IMO. This is probably partially because each individual sector gets used 4 times less frequently, but it feels like cards running SDHC (32GB) tech seem to break more often in general than those using SDXC tech (cards bigger than 32GB). SDXC cards can be made with more durability and reliability than the limitations with SDHC tech. So, in general I would certainly give a preference to 128GB cards like you posted instead of 32GB cards because the 128GB cards will generally be using better tech, AND will use individual sectors less frequently, allowing the card a higher chance to last 4 times as long as a 32GB would.

So, it’s double the cost, but 4 times the space and 4 times the life expectancy just from that alone, let alone being better tech than the 32 GB card.

If that doesn’t convince someone that 128GB is better than 32GB, then it’s all good…to each their own (no shade from me), but that is one of the reasons I prefer it. 32GB will be good enough for many people’s use cases though.

Do you still need a FAT-formatted 32GB card for flashing? Or has that changed with Wyse getting a new format license?

How many days does the 128gb record continuously before it overrides older footage on the v3? I assume 16 days or so? You are recording it 24/7 right at 1080P? But you could do 720P and it records more than that right? Got to assume these cameras are outside your house? The thing is I would use it inside the apartment and well It isn’t going to be on 24/7 since when I’m inside the house, it will be turned off. It will be turned on whenever I’m sleeping or not in the apartment so I think I have it turned on probably on average 10 hours a day only. So that would mean it could record for over a month then right in my case?

But say I want to record it continuously when I’m not in the apartment, then it would record 16 days at 1080P and max 20 days at 720P? When you say you need good cards, you mean larger space gb cards right? Or you mean that or you mean good brand cards?

I don’t think it will record in 720. there is 360, SD and HD I think it is all 1080 SD or HD
