What servers is your wyze v4 camera connected to? How does it decide which servers to use? Does it vary by region? Or what is the reason?
I read that some people have Chinese or something else servers, Etc.
When I download the fimrware version from the website does it overwrite the full firmware file? Or does the part responsible for server selection remain untouched?
What do you think? Is wyze a good security camera? Is it better than the eufy tp-link or other Chinese cameras? Is it suitable for home security?
Wyze uses AWS, which will choose servers based on your location and the current load on the system.
Firmware should overwrite the whole firmware on the cam, but I can’t say that with 100% certainty, not sure why it would matter though. A manual firmware update/restore certainly would do that.
No better or worse than the others. I would not trust any cloud cam in private areas where you don’t want someone to potentially gain access and see.
Thank you Dave for your comprehensive answers. Why? Which brand do you think is good from a privacy and security point of view? For example eve homekit camera?
A closed circuit hard wired system with NVR that you can only access using a VPN into your home network. There are plenty out there, Reolink and Lorex are two that come to mind.
