Hi!
What’s the difference between a physical 10 second reset or if I remove the camera from the profile and reassociate it?
Hi!
What’s the difference between a physical 10 second reset or if I remove the camera from the profile and reassociate it?
A soft reset is done via firmware / software, and if locked up may not respond to a reset
A hard reset is a power cycle (on/off/on)
This requires unpluging unit and plugging back in.
Either manually or with a smartplug (non-Wyze brand preferred)
I don’t think the OP is asking that question. I think he wants to know what is the difference between manual factory reset by holding the reset button and deleting the camera from the account.
I think when you factory reset the camera by pressing and holding the button it will wipe its internal memory chip to a clean slate. Removing it from the account just resets the account, not the camera.
If you remove the camera from the app while the cam is online, it does go into “ready to connect” but as far as what is or isn’t left on it, not sure. The few times I’ve reset them I do the hard reset, even if I’ve deleted them from the app first. Can’t hurt.
That’s why I said “I think” as never had to reset or delete from the app. All my cams have been setup only once when I first bought them. Hope, I didn’t jinks it
