We have had this watch for years and fully satisfied. This is posted as a warning for those still using this device. It had been on the charger all day when an item was placed on it. It felt warm when first when picked up but didn’t think much of it. Then, as I brought it to my wrist, it exploded with a bright yellow electrical spark before I placed it on my wrist. Fortunately, I was holding onto the band instead of the watch body. This could have caused serious injury. FYI: We have liked all our other Wyze products, including but not limited to at least 9 cameras, doorbell, door lock, scale, floodlights…and continue to recommend them.
holy wah! Glad you’re OK and it worked out in the best manner possible. That is terrifying. I keep hearing about all these smart rings and how the batteries can swell and either get stuck on the person’s finger or lead to burns. You mentioned that something was placed on it while it was charging, Can I ask what that was questionmark Sadly mine died many years ago after an incident at the job I had so I haven’t been wearing it but I am definitely interested in knowing more about how this type of thing takes place. Hopefully the wonderful nerds of the world will keep stepping it up on sodium ion batteries which are far less prone to dendritic conversion and this type of experience than lithium ion. Again very glad you’re OK!
