No sound when I play video files from microSD card on PC. The microSD card is from video doorbell V2. I don’t have this issue with files that were recorded on WyzeCam V2/V3 and other MP4 files.
The properties in video doorbell V2 files show 0 audio bit rate. The “Record Sound” option is enabled on the video doorbell V2.
If the sound plays when playing the SD card via the app (while installed in the camera) then it is a CODEC issue. I know in the v4 cam they’re using a pretty uncommon audio CODEC in the MP4 files. VLC media player can play it, and I’m sure there are others out there. The codec on the v4 is PCM-ULAW and/or PCM-ALAW also known as G.711, typically used for compressing phone calls over VOIP and VoLTE, not that common for videos.
For some people, installing the ffmpeg codec fixed it, for others it didn’t. But VLC seems to support both natively.
