I’m having a time with my V3 camera. I have used it successfully for a long time, but now it is acting weird. I don’t have a paid subscription and only use it to record directly to a memory card continuously
I put a memory card in it and the camera resized it to about 500 Mb. It only records for about a half hour before it starts recording over itself.
This has happened to multiple cards. The latest was a 128 Gb drive. Now it shows 508 Mb in size
What is going on here? I can’t figure it out.
Other cards I have tried were smaller. I have a 32 Gb one in it now. It looks like it is only recording for a short period
That doesn’t make any difference. I think it is when I format them in the camera that the cards get screwed up. I have a 32 Gb card in there now and only 10 minutes of video shows up under “View Playback”
Under “Manage MicroSD card”, it shows 92 MB of 509.0 Mb of space is used, so the camera sees it as a 509 Mb card
I was able to format a 32 Gb and a 128 Gb card with this and get all of my space back. Both were only showing 509 Mb before I formatted them. Trying to format them with Windows failed
I am a long time v3 user as well. I too am having issues with the memory cards. Three brand new cards and 2 used cards. I also have Cam Plus subscription. My cameras just stop recording to the cards randomly. When I reboot, they record for a while and then stop again. I have to reboot all v3 cameras about ever other day. Used to work flawlessly. I also have one cam OG. A brand new 32g card inserted. Formatted in camera. After a day the OG doesn’t recognize the card and I have to reformat and restart. Works again for a few days then start all over again. Yes, I have deleted every camera from the app and my network then added them back. Still have trouble. Any thoughts? Thanks, Jeff
Yes, I would try the SD Memory Card Formatter, as mentioned above, if you haven’t yet attempted that. I’d also be sure to use the app’s Eject Camera SD Card or Eject MicroSD Card (or similar, depending on camera model) button prior to removing the cards. Recent discussion (within the past day or so) in this topic might provide some insight:
FWIW, I’ve been using 256 GB SanDisk Extreme cards in my Cam Pan v3s (just using their factory format) without any apparent issue for months (one camera) to well over a year (another). For my newer cameras, I’ve started using 256 GB SanDisk High Endurance cards.
