Version 3 camera and memory cards

I’m having a time with my V3 camera. I have used it successfully for a long time, but now it is acting weird. I don’t have a paid subscription and only use it to record directly to a memory card continuously

I put a memory card in it and the camera resized it to about 500 Mb. It only records for about a half hour before it starts recording over itself.

This has happened to multiple cards. The latest was a 128 Gb drive. Now it shows 508 Mb in size

What is going on here? I can’t figure it out.

Other cards I have tried were smaller. I have a 32 Gb one in it now. It looks like it is only recording for a short period

Format the card on a PC and see if that helps.

That doesn’t make any difference. I think it is when I format them in the camera that the cards get screwed up. I have a 32 Gb card in there now and only 10 minutes of video shows up under “View Playback”

Under “Manage MicroSD card”, it shows 92 MB of 509.0 Mb of space is used, so the camera sees it as a 509 Mb card

That’s what I said, don’t format them in the cam, format on PC.

I formatted this V3 card 2 days ago in the cam.

Maybe, try formatting in ExFAT if you have been using FAT32.

I like these suggestions:

I think I’d also consider using the SD Memory Card Formatter from SD Association in a case like this.

Use this. It’s possible there are hidden partitions that are inaccessible. Simple formatting using the PC or camera won’t delete those partitions.

It’s also possible the SC card is corrupted. Try another card.

I had formatted them in Windows and on the camera.

I was able to format a 32 Gb and a 128 Gb card with this and get all of my space back. Both were only showing 509 Mb before I formatted them. Trying to format them with Windows failed

I put the 32 back in the camera.

I formatted the 32 Gb with the program and it has been recording for a few hours and shows plenty of free space on the card now.

I don’t know what I did different, other than using the program to format the card.

In any case, it’s working now.

Thanks for all of the help.
