V3 pan how do I start it panning?

I set the waypoints, previewed them, saved them,
Returns me to the set way points screen.

Exit to home screen, come back, can’t find where to start it panning,
When I come back it comes directly to the waypoints screen.

Pull the Toolbar to the left and click Pan Scan.

That toolbar is about as far from intuitive as possible.
