If the pictures upload, you will see it starts out in color then goes to b&w as the night goes on.

Night vision mode is turning on. You can turn it off in advanced settings for the camera (Settings, Advanced Settings, Night Vision Mode).

Yup. Looks as if it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. Try following that advice and see if you still get enough light for a decent view. With the V3 you likely will.

I’m realize that is probably the cause and hope tomorrow morning I am pleased with the results.
It’s a catch-22. To get the color you have to leave the night vision off, but if you don’t have enough ambient light for it to work you can’t see much at all. In that scenario night vision set to Auto is probably the best way to go.
