How long have we had auto zoom on movement/person?
Smart Focus was added 2 weeks ago to SD playback for Cam v4. Looks like maybe they’re adding the feature for other cam types?

For Cam v4 Playback, you can tap the 3 dots (More) to pop out the controls to turn off Smart Focus for SD playback. I haven’t seen this for Cam v3 though.

As I only have standard V3 cameras, I cannot turn the smart focus off and it is now becoming VERY annoying 
There is no button for it on the main cam screen as in the shot from Seapup. Another thread suggests it is turned off with motion tagging, but this is not the case. How in gods name do I turn it off?

I submitted a ticket only to have the AI bot tell me that the V3 doesn’t do smart focus so it can’t be turned off! sheesh

Seapup just so you are aware, this is happening on live view as well, when a person is spotted, even outside the detection zone. - I have opened a case with the live chat as well, they are making promises to look into it etc. etc.
This clip shows it was in live view and not playback.

I tried an iPhone and an iPad, both running 3.0.5 (9) against a bunch of Cam v3 cams running 4.36.13.0416 and can’t reproduce the zoom issue (Smart Focus). I checked live stream, events and SD playback in both portrait and landscape using Person, Pet, Vehicle and general motion as event triggers. Very odd issue.

I am confirming the same issue as @Slammer99uk reports on my iPad with production version of the app. it only affect landscape view. Installing the beta 3.1.0 (5) fixes the issue.

Interesting wrinkle - I have factory reset the cam as support asked me to, which I initially rejected because of location, and lo and behold look what turned up on the … section of the camera
So basically seems the feature is now available on original V3’s at least. 3.1.0 (5)
However, without doing anything, the feature has also appeared on my other 2 V3’s one of which is not on cam plus, but the feature works there too. Pinch and spread also works now.
Please assure me I am not going mad

No, you are not going mad. The smart focus is available now on v3s as well, but is not working 100%, at least not on my v3s.
