V2 Video Doorbell keeps going offline!

also, i have 4.51.2.0578 but the latest version is 4.51.2.1041. i do not know how to force that update. that might help tremendously if I have the current and updated version of software for the doorbell.

Yeah, that is unfortunately what I did on the advise of tsparks0880 in this forum. I could not handle disconnecting the door bell every day to reboot it. Wyze gave me the option of a new door bell or store credit, which I took the credit because it is a software issue , the router I used was an old spare one I had so it did not cost me anything and now I have a doorbell that works. I have not tried to run it on my primary router with the latest update because I am waiting to hear if anyone else has had success. Which is why I asked what version of firmware are you running.

The latest firmware also doesn’t keep the doorbell online. Upgraded today to 4.51.2.1041 and about 6 hours later it was offline again.

Yep. That has been my experience as well with the .1041 firmware. Stayed connected (and reconnected itself a few times) for a few days, It was disconnected from last night until I power-cycled it this afternoon to reconnect.
The newest firmware is an improvement, but the problem still isn’t corrected.

I am having the same issue. Go buy a new one and replace it … I returned mine. This is a hardware issue in my mind so don’t frustrate just replace it until it works. If you get lucky you will have a good camera … most people are lucky and don’t have this issue so don’t bother trying to fix via software.

All good after 7 days for now with 4.51.2.1041.

I don’t want to jinx it, but I am 24 hours without disconnecting. I’m pretty sure it is working again, so clearly a software issue, and not hardware. Nice not to have to run two routers again.

Also working well with the new update so far. Feeling confident that Wyze found the solution. One of the commenters earlier in this forum said something about it being a problem with Xfinity in the USA and Roger’s in Canada. We use Xfinity and they supply both 2.4 and 5, so I am assuming that is where the problem began. Knock on wood, the latest update is working for me and I hope that it will become the case for all.

After returning 3 cameras it is finally working without any issues.

It’s been almost 3 weeks since updating to 1041. During that time we have had 2 power failures and I have seen the router reboot once. The doorbell has recovered each time. I did notice that it takes it time to recover, maybe 3-4 minutes, but it does recover, and that is all I care about. Time will tell but I am cautiously optimistic that this is a good fix. Thanks Wyze for sticking with this issue.

The 1041 update seems to be holding. There definitely are disconnections. I have set up connectivity monitoring of my doorbell and it takes my doorbell about 20 mins to reconnect but it does reconnect which is great.

1041 is still holding. It has been solid for almost a month. Yes, it takes some time to reconnect but I don’t care. In my book it is fixed.

I did get a new doorbell from Wyze, hooked it up, downloaded multiple updates and 48 hours later… it continues to work flawlessly! So, I am not sure if I had a defective doorbell or did not have all the updates downloaded correctly but either way, I now have a working doorbell! Short answer, if you had as many problems as I had post installation, cut bait sooner than later and get yourself a new doorbell.

on 4.51.2.1041 and unit randomly drops off wifi. it is still recording events. if i ring the doorbell it re-connects. this is really strange.

My unit on the latest firmware drops off too every once in a while and has to be power cycled to reconnect. I tried ringing the doorbell and that did not reconnect it.

What is the rating of your db transformer (xx)v/(xx)vac? Try setting an automation/rule to restart the db in the a.m. everyday. Worked for me and solved my dbv2 connection problems. Worked so well I kept restart automation for my db duo’s. Good luck!!

Anyone having issues with the VDBv2, consider reporting them in the following thread:

Having same issue. Firmware is up to date. Rebooted, reinstalled same issue. Disappointing. Worked fine for a few weeks

Welcome to the Forum, @tslyck!

If your doorbell is repeatedly losing its Wi-Fi connection despite being current with the firmware, then I wonder about two possible causes for your problem: power to the doorbell and your LAN’s Wi-Fi situation. What details can you provide that will help others in the community address your issue?
