Updated the firmware on my 2019 White Bulb and now I can no longer control the light in the app, and random flashing at all hours

My 2019 bulb was working find just as all of yours were. Damn good thing as I was working across country and that is/was the home entry light that would come on just before sunset and turn off just after sunrise. Worked perfectly until the update. I’ve contacted Wyze several times, Put the issue here on the forum, nothing, no response. I’ve deleted it and repaired it several times including just after returning from the long trip I have been on. I had to just leave it turned on for 3 months to ensure that I had coverage while II was away. For security I had 4 cameras facing inward covering all possible areas inside the house and 4 facing all outside approaches as well. Those became fluky and mostly non-op and unreliable while I was overseas. I rebooted both the modem and router upon my return, and everything “works” at least to some degree, except the outside light. I can delete it, reinstall it, run it through the pairing cycles etc., and then it just does whatever the hell it feels like and doesn’t respond to the new “automations” commands. Everything worked fine before those came into play. I could set a “timer” and it followed it like it was supposed to. Now after “automations” the light doesn’t work, the cameras seem to just randomly cycle themselves at ALL TIMES OF THE DAY AND NIGHT, even when I am home and they are supposed to be OFF. Fortunately they are not completely non-functional, they do still record, but they piss me off when I’m 2 seconds away from falling asleep and the camera does it’s cycle of turning on and then spinning lock to lock a few times to orient itself. When are they ever going to fix software bugs that do this crap? i had none of these issues before the software app updated and we all of a sudden had “automations”. Ever since then the system is fluky, unreliable, and the older hardware like my 2019 bulbs just doesn’t respond. Now I have to hit the switch and turn it off and on every night and morning instead of having a TIMER that used to do that for me!!

The issues are probably related to this: Bulbs stop working, no support

Still no resolution??

Bump-diddy-bump

I’m having the same problem with my older Wyze White bulbs (2019 version). Two of them stopped responding to the Wyze app. I was able to reconnect them successfully several times, but they keep resetting themselves and going back into pairing mode again.

This started after the recent firmware update 1.2.0.384. Wyze needs to release a stable firmware update to fix this issue. These bulbs worked fine before.

Has anyone found a fix or heard if Wyze plans to address this?

I was finally able to connect my 2019 bulbs on 384 firmware after working with support for the past few weeks. They said the fix should be global, just need to pair the bulb to the app again.Hopefully it will work for you.

I had 2 bulbs working fine up until a week ago. Then both

failed after update and no longer connect. New spare also will not connect.

Thanks! I tried it, and it works again!

I don’t want this thread to die either. What I want is a response from Wyze. I’m overseas right now so I bought two CamV4’s before I left to put in areas where I had weak response from the CamV2 cameras. Those connected automatically and work just fine even though they are the farthest away from the router. My 2019 bulb at the entryway of my house, 15 feet away from the router, still refuse to connect and or respond after assuring me they are on the network. I go through the BS I described when starting this thread, the bulb connects to the network and then refuses to listen to or respond to ANY commands from the APP. ALL of this started when they switched to those frigging “automations” from the timers which actually worked. I don’t NEED automations!! I need TIMERS that actually work!! Come on WYZE!! I buy a bunch of your hardware, subscribe to the annual service, give me SOMETHING THAT WORKS!!

  1. The year of the update?
