So after having a lengthy chat with a young lady from support It was requested that I repost my problem here for the developer team to take a look at. Long story short(ish)… I have 256 Gig SD cards in my 2 x V3 cams, formatted exfat. These were inserted on the morning of 17th March and I have the event recordings to show this happening and recorded to my album and iMac. Recordings are HD. I checked religiously every day to see when the earliest available recording to the SD card was. Up until today it was., yes you guessed the 17th. This morning however I checked and the 17th SD Card recordings have gone (the events for that day are still available in the events tab) - I am on Cam Plus - Sorry I did say this was going to be short(ish) So chatting to support, we went through the usual SD card size problem? Nope you removed the formatting limit by introducing Exfat. (and besides another user said they use 256 Gig cards ok) “Usually, your recordings should be stored within 14 days and will be automatically erased after the 14th.” - No that is for Cloud recordings “For 32GB and you are using the standard video, it will take 7-8 days and the card will be full” - No the recordings are only taking up 80 Gig of the 256 Gig card And so on and so on. All want is for recordings on a 256 Gig card to actually use all the space available, thus giving me the most amount of time a can go back and watch said recordings. To add my recordings were all HD so using about 8-9 Gig per day so should at least give me 24 days Anyone able to confirm the following please… You are recording to 128-256 Gig SD Card in a V3, and you can use the playback tab to watch recordings from the SD card more than 8 days old? if you can how far back can you go and are you recording in HD, SD or 360p Thank you for taking the time to read this fellow users. I am now hoping the Dev team will do the same. Jeremy

Somewhat better still than what I get when I pull the card, which is video from many months ago but no recent footage. (I’ve long had SD issues and will be changing cards again.)

All I can say at the moment is “I am glad it’s not just me then” Would be nice to get some sort of acknowledgment of the problem from Wyze, I won’t hold my breath

[image] Omgitstony: Cloud storage and local storage (SD card) are each seperate and Independant functions of eachother. You can have one, both or neither at anytime. The settings if one to not effect the other as they each have their own seperate set of settings. Events only to local storage is not events only to cloud storage, they are different features. Hey Tony, I’m confused :confounded: (seriously) how does that square with this (admittedly from 2019, but still): [image]Cloud clip | SD event: Same trigger? You’re welcome! Thank you for your patience. Here’s the information verified by the dev team that I received: V1 & V2: Record on event will be affected by motion detection zone but NOT by motion sensitivity . Pan: Record on event will NOT be affected by either motion detection zone or motion sensitivity . If you have an inconsistency between microSD card recording and event recording, please check the detection settings. If that doesn’t fix the problem, please send us a firmware log through the Wyze app and include info for the event video (date/time/time zone). In V2.2, we will change it so Record on event will be affected by both motion detection zone and motion sensitivity . I’ve seen other Mavens assert similar recently, so…

Um, I think Tony was referring to the only two remaining SD settings, on/off and motion/continuous. As your linked thread shows, the sensitivity setting for SD was locked at 100%. Not sure about the zone. [image] Cloud clip | SD event: Same trigger? Cameras I have your answers! Yes, it is a single motion detection system. No, the number is fixed to 100 so that the likelihood of missing desired events is decreased. No, nothing changed in the most recent firmware upgrade that would affect the discussion.

Shh, I’m trying to see if I can get a Maven to respond to me. (But I’m not pretending confusion. And I don’t care enough anymore, nor am I being paid enough, to think as carefully as I did back then. Also, I think you’re wrong a little bit. )

Guys, thanks for your responses. I managed to get the attention of the Wyze Core Community group rep on FB, and she is going to forward it to the appropriate team. It seems this is a long standing and ongoing problem with 256 Gig cards. The FB thread can be seen here:- https://www.facebook.com/groups/298350110642283/?multi_permalinks=1330503370760280&notif_id=1648512747569031&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic&ref=notif

[image] BillyCroan: I can’t mess around with the silly screen recordings that come off the app. I need the full, clear video from the card, so I wrote a program to copy that video off of the card onto a server I own, merge then into 8hr clips, strip out idle times with no motion and upload to youtube. Do tell - I gather without removing the card. How are you getting the recordings off the card? I don’t have any need for the upload to YouTube part, and maybe the strip out idle times part, but did you figure out a way to remotely pull the recorded files off the uSD card? There are a lot of people around that would like to be able to do that.

Um - yes please do share more. I do this manually now if needed.

I have the camera set to Nightvision off, and always record in daytime mode. I have some cards in exFAT format and most of them are formated in FAT32. I also have a 400GB card that works fine in V3s. I have about 3 dozen cams using SD cards 128GB or larger (mostly SanDisk U1, C10 cards), all working fine.
