Understanding Cloud Subscription Pricing

Hello,

I would like to purchase a single camera (for now) CAM V3 with a cloud subscription. But I’m sorry to see that it’s so complicated to understand the pricing policy.

Indeed, the first link below states that Cam Plus Lite is a cloud offering (free or not) and if so, how much does it cost, since it says “Name Your Price.” What does that mean? I imagine the offer is free for a few days and that you then have to upgrade to the paid Cam Plus subscription below. But it would have been clearer to say that rather than “Name Your Price.”

Furthermore, the same link states that Cam Plus (not to be confused with Cam Plus Lite, which, if I understand correctly, is just free cloud access for a few days) is paid at $1.99/month. However, the second link below states that it costs $2.99/month? What is the actual price? How can I get reliable information? Why is there so much confusion about the prices of these subscriptions ?

I even read on the forum or elsewhere that Cam plus cost $19.99/year, or $1.66/month, but if this is correct, it is not written on the links mentioned, which should have been the case, and so it is a third price possibility, and I still do not know how much the cheapest subscription, which is Cam plus (for one camera), costs.

Thanks.

I can’t tell you why the pricing is different on the Wyze’s web site, but I can tell you one thing. Cam Plus Lite is no longer available, it was scrapped away sometime ago. It is only available as a grandfathered subscription to members who already had it before being discontinued. Wyze is notorious for not keeping their web site up to date.

Can you send the links of those posts tyou talk about habibi ?

Either way, the site is incomprehensible and the customer should not have to browse the forum to find clear and reliable information.

Sincerely,

Here you go:

Agreed, but this is a user to user forum and we don’t have any control how Wyze conducts business.

(Bad beeb! Link me! )

CamPlus Lite is no longer available to new users.

Welcome to the Forum, @jeremyeliecohen!

As @habib mentioned in your other post, Cam Plus Lite is no longer available as a new subscription. I’ll ask about the first link you included in your initial post, because I think having that out there is probably causing some confusion. I’ve also asked the Moderator team to close or merge your duplicate topic, because having two of them open for the same thing can also contribute to confusion.

For pricing, the page you should probably consult is the plan comparison page. I believe that’s much more current. Note that the prices you see there are what you should expect to pay if you buy a plan directly from Wyze via their Web site. If you purchase through Google Play Store or Apple App Store, then my understanding is that the prices can be higher because of the third-party markup and also that problems or disputes about subscriptions have to go through that third party, as well. I think it’s generally recommended to subscribe directly from Wyze in order to get the best price and avoid those issues.

And if you want a stab at the historical evolution , open and/or follow my link above.
