Transformer and house fire

My brother sent me this from New York where he lives. One of a few people in town that have WYZE cams gave him the videos. As you can see the transformer catches fire and three hours later a house down the street connected to that power source catches fire. My brother said he was there by himself with the small fire truck pumper until more help arrived. Town population is 400. All volunteer fireman. Heavy wet snow involved

Oh my! I hope everyone was OK!

Nobody at home at the time. A lot of the houses there now are used by New York City owners who escape to the rural country for a few weeks a year. It used to be a nice town, two stop lights, one coming into town from Pennsylvania over the Delaware River Bridge and the other leaving town .

Mainstreet.

It was a “Hotel” at one time. Probably had some hanky- panky going on in there in it’s history.

Emphasis on the ‘ho’. :smiling_imp:

Bjork sez ‘impish’ in Icelandic is potato salad.

PSA:

In the event of an MFP EMP, we would be SOL for longer than a little while because we have no backstock of big transformers, they’re not trivial to build and they’re expensive.

BAM! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt.

Carry on.

In case of a major EMP, transformers would be the least of our worries
