Transfer all access to a different user, transfer account, paid cam plus

Hi,

I currently have access to all 4 outdoor cameras (v1) and a couple of wyze cam plugs,I currently share access to my girlfriend so she can see the cameras and plugs also. I am currently paying for a wyze cam subscription for all of the cameras.
She wants to be the account owner, administrator, and will now pay for the wyze cam subscription.

I have tried moving outdoor cameras from a different house (and network) to ours and bricked the outdoor cameras. I am worried that if I log out and factory reset the existing cameras that something wont work, or I will brick them.
Is there a way to transfer ownership of Cam Plus?
Do I need to just make a new account, and cancel mine?

Is there a way to transfer administrative account/make her email address the primary account owner? There is 10 devices.

Unfortunately, you’ve discovered this problem the hard way:

IMPORTANT:

  • Do not factory reset your device without deleting the device from your Wyze account first.

I don’t own any Cam Outdoors, but it might be worth your time to review other Help Center articles in that section in order to reduce your chances of bricking more Cams. As far as I know, these are the only Wyze Cam models that have this particular issue (apparently by design as a measure to make them useless to thieves), so I think you should be safe doing factory resets on other Wyze Cams without first deleting them from your account, just for future reference.

I’m not aware of a way to transfer a subscription and haven’t tried, but I wonder what would happen if you just changed the e-mail address associated with your account from your address to your girlfriend’s address and updated other account details (e.g., name) accordingly? That seems like the easiest thing to try without canceling the subscription and/or getting Support involved.

My understanding of canceling subscriptions is that they remain active until the renewal date (so there’s no prorated refund for unused subscription time if you cancel), so maybe the best thing to do for that would be to edit the payment method while logged into Web View. Of course, here I’m making the assumption that you purchased the subscription directly from Wyze. If you subscribed through Google Play Store or Apple App Store, then the situation is likely less straightforward.

I assume you could always change your account password, then change the account email address to something else and then they can login and take over.

(Make sure to delete your payment info and maybe see if you can change the name)
