Thermostat setup fail at Device Naming

Hey all,

Just tried setting up Wyze Thermostat in my house. Got through setup, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connections. It woukd only tell me “Operation Failed” whenever I tried to input a device name, and there was no option to skip.

Since I was now stuck, I backed out of setup. Now my thermostat is not being detected at all through the app. My Wi-Fi provider’s app lists it as a conecres device, but im not sure if my phines bluetooth is able to detect it or not. The app says to make sure I reset the stat, but I have the feeling that that is only possible through the app on a device that’s completed setup. It doesn’t show on my home page either.

Anyone aware of a manual reset or something on the stat? I see the WYZE screen, but never got passed it because of the naming failure, and I haven’t found any way to pitentially bypass that screen.

Same thing happen to me today. I found this post and no answers. I made an account just to help everyone else. To fix this problem you need to reset the Thermostat. but turning the power or unplugging the unit is not a reset. Hold the control wheel for 10 seconds. To reset your Wyze Thermostat, press and hold the control wheel for 10 seconds. Then set up your thermostat like new using the Wyze Thermostat Setup Guide. Hope this helps work fine for me.
