ABSOLUTELY the simplest, straight-forward, least time consuming, least human frustrating way to swap a WiFi router from old to new one. Don’t worry, if your network was secure before you got the new router, then there’s no reason NOT to use the same SSID and password on the new one that was/is on the old one.
If you don’t know the particulars of how to rename/name to new Router’s SSID and WiFi password, contact the tech/customer support, google it, ask a neighbor, but do it. Must easier. But please, please, do not leave the new one with the factory setting it comes with, that’s a serious security risk for you/your home.
We’ve explained this many times on the forum. Do some searches to learn more.
I was extremely pissed to see what they did. Got two pan cams which I liked. Purchased more cameras for my office and workshop only to discover that now, there is no event recoding unless you pay a subscription. It’s pure rip off. O
I’ve already installed the cameras in the office. Subs are way too expensive for the poor quality they offer screw Wyze.
Welcome to the Wyze User Community Forum not so silent @Silent_Screamer!
The change to Thumbnail Snapshot Event Uploads for non-subscribed cams was implemented in March 2022.… a decision of financial sustainability that was very well documented and one that gave users a cost free option, should they choose to exercise it, in Cam Plus Lite. Wyze Cams also have the full unrestricted capability of recording 24\7 full length uncut video locally to an SD Card.
But, IMO the Video Event Uploads, regardless the length, is the very least valuable feature of subscribing to Cam Plus. The most valuable feature is the back to back recording so that the cam isn’t experiencing the 5 minute imposed cooldown timeout between uploads and push notifications. The next valuable feature is the AI Object Detection and Push Notifications, both of which were present then and are present now. I made that realization long before the March 2022 change came down.
I have 26 cams assigned to Cam Plus with another to be installed this weekend and still can’t believe they aren’t charging more like the other IoT companies are. It is a service for which I would expect to pay more.
